Basics of Alchemy - Fourth Class - Period Five - Monday, 9/22

A rather harried Abby Irene was at the front of the class, setting up some video equipment. Most specifically, she was making sure that the television and DVD player were hooked up properly.

"Good morning, class," she greeted them as they made their way in.

"My apologies for today, but as I spent most of the last week as a dog," and one joke about bitches and she would not be held accountable, for goodness sake, "we'll be watching a short film on alchemy and I'll ask you to look over this article on a rather famous female alchemist for homework."

Cimorene set up to watch the movie attentively.

Hinata was a bit tired, but she watched the movie intently enough for all of that.

Sam wasn't sure how much he'd be able to concentrate today, so the movie was very welcome.

Tony watched the movie and thought how incredibly dull it would be to direct interview segments.

He wasn't sleeping, honest. His eyes were just resting.

Tony wasn't so much sleepy as restless. He tore a scrap of paper from his notebook, scribbled a note on it, folded it up and tossed it at Andrew.

Busy weekend?

Andrew wiped at his eyes and read the note. He smiled and wrote back:

Sleepless night.

Hot date? Tony wrote back.

Thks. for the help with the book, he added. Almost have my wards working right.

Andrew rolled his eyes, still smiling.

Hardly. I just couldn't sleep. It was the truth, minus the details.

He thought it over, and added:

... bad dream. Do you have a ward for that?

I wish, Tony wrote back. Closest I've found involves a memory wipe, which - no.

Oh, I don't know. Some mornings I think starting over from scratch wouldn't be so bad. He passed the note back.

Tony tapped his pen against his lips and considered this. He could think of a few things he'd like to forget. But Arra'd tried that memory wipe thing on him this summer and he was still a little annoyed at her for it.

And lose my memory of seeing all the King of the Bracelets movies on their opening nights? Nah. Not worth it. He passed the note back to Andrew and grinned at him.

Andrew laughed into the back of his hand. You make an excellent point. Maybe I just need to add a few new happy memories. Any suggestions?

You like vampire detective stuff? Tony wrote. The show I worked on this summer, Darkest Night, premieres Wednesday. Thinking of having a viewing party.

Andrew considered it for a moment. I'm game.

Tony smiled. Cool. Wednesday, 9 pm, 2nd floor common room?

I'll be there!

Harry sat as far away from the TV and DVD player as he could manage. It never went over well when he broke people's electronics.

Just in case once they ping in.

Sam was there, looking a little weary.

Savannah was here and she looked exhausted. She moved rather slowly and carefully.

She hadn't been sure what Abby Irene's attendance policy was, and so had dragged herself out of her bed.

"If anyone would care to come by Friday to my office hours for a bit more, do feel free to come."

Ugh, a dog. Not that she'd terribly minded at the time, but... ugh.

That said, she was there.

Both Abby Irene and I had a crazy week/end and thus, pseudovideo! *flop* And the Worst Roommate Ever has to get a knock in as well. *shakes fist at her own body*

Everyone else doing well? *hopes so*
