Phys Ed: Week 2, Period 2 (Fri. 9/12)

Once again, students were back in a traditional gymnasium. This week, instead of mats, a large quarter-mile circle was taped off into three lanes around the perimeter of the room. In the center of those circles stood a Satedan with a clipboard. If he'd found a whistle in his desk, he'd have that part of the coach look down, too. As it was, he was still dressed in sturdy hides and leather.

Ronon started talking as soon as he felt like it. "Endurance is all about sustaining energy over time. Today we're testing your endurance while running. Dress out, pair up, and see how far you can go. Remember to stay with your partner: if they can't go on, neither can you." Ronon glanced at his clipboard before looking around for one face in particular. "Anyone need anything, Hannibal's got the TA job this go-round."

Pair it up and run until you can't run any more! Be grateful Ronon didn't choose your partner.

Ichigo was already stretching as he waited for someone to pair up with.

"Got a partner Newbie?" Jamie asked when he finished stretching.

"Do now," Ichigo smirked. "If you can keep up with me, that is."

"Please... have you not noticed how everyone here is buff?" Jamie said rolling his eyes. "We're all in fabulous shape."

Plus Jamie has a duplicate hiding outside the gym to switch off with him when no one is looking.

Running was easy as pie.

Mmm, pie.

Better not think about that while preparing an endurance run though. He was there and ready for a partner though.

"Do you run well?" Helen asked.

"I think I do," he said, shrugging. "Not my specialty but I ain't slow or anything."

"I suppose there is no way you're slower than McKay. Who I am not going to get stuck running with again," Helen replied a bit grumpily.

Lois could handle this. She was good at running. She just hoped she could find someone who could keep up.

"Think you can keep up with me?" Friday asked.

Lois smirked. "Is that a challenge?"

She stretched and glanced around for a partner.

"Hey Ino," Summer greeted. "Need a partner?"

"I'd love one," she said, with a quick grin. "How're you at running?"

A beat.

"And how're you in general? Doing good lately?"

Technically, she already had a partner in Blind Seer. But Firekeeper wasn't stupid, she knew the point of the exercise was to pair up with another student, which Blind Seer technically wasn't, so they waited for someone else.

[ooc: and I'm off to work in about half an hour, should be back around 9 eastern.]

Francine's face was pretty much stuck in erf mode when it came to this class, but running made it erf-ier than ever. She made her way over to Blysse and her wolf, erf-ing all the way. "Running. Yay."

Gwen looked around for a partner. At least they weren't going to be chasing weevils...or being chased by them as the case might be.

"Hi, do you need a partner?"

Maybe this would be like back home after all. "I do, as it turns out."

Eve stretched as she waited for someone to partner with.

Sokka jogged up beside her, and continued to jog in place as he talked. "You any good?"

Rodney was hanging back and hoping there was an odd number in the class. Maybe if he didn't have a partner, he wouldn't have to run. He knew it was a long shot.

Turtle looked around for a partner, hoping that whoever she found (or whoever found her) was either really sympathetic or really weak so she could get out of this quick.

Dick stretched as he waited for a partner. He'd go easy on whoever it ended up being. Unless it was someone in ridiculous shape. Then he'd just see how long he could hang with them.
