Library [Sunday, 09/07]

It was nice to be back in the library after a summer off. He hadn't done much reading during said summer but he figured he could pick that back up now that he was back in the land of books.

Of course, he wasn't reading just yet. He was more taking a walk around the library just so he remembered where everything was.

Once that was down, he settled behind his desk with a blank sheet of paper and a pen. Letter writing was hard.

He's at the desk and there's maybe a word or two on his sheet of paper.

"Dude, what are you doing here?" Toby asked, looking around for like, guards or something.

"I work here," Lee said, giving Toby a wave.

"Seriously? I so didn't know that." Toby leaned his hip against the desk, his shirtless figure shining in the light. "Does that mean you can like, help me find a book?"

"I took the summer off," Lee said, glancing at Toby's shirtless self for a minute before nodding. "What kinda book?"

"Well, I'm the TA for Ethics class and I thought I should like, study up or something. Sound good?" Toby really wanted to impress Anakin. He was hot and so smart.

"So, you need a book on Ethics or a book on how to be a teacher's assistant?" Lee asked.

"On being an assistant," Toby decided, trying to sound professional. "Dude, do you think, like there's a short book? I have class on Tuesday."

Lee didn't know if there even was a book.

"Uh." He shrugged. "Let's check out non fiction."

He started heading for an aisle and waved Toby over.

Toby followed dutifully. "So you know a lot about books, huh?"

"Enough to do this job," Lee said and laughed. "Library's a good place to sit and think."

And do other things. Oh, memories.

"Self help books, maybe," he said and walked down one aisle.

"I've only really made out in the stacks," Toby replied, thinking of his time in the library.

"Me too," he said and laughed. "Now, I don't know if there's any book specific to assistant teaching but there might be some on how to be smarter or how to be more confident."

"Awesome! I think I'm pretty smart, so let's go for confidence," he said, dragging a book off the shelf that seemed to fit the bill.

"And I'm in that class so you can always ask me if you need help," Lee offered. "We can study together or something."

"That would be so great, Lee!" Toby beamed. "We could make our own study group and read up on like, ethical things."

"We could!" Lee nodded. "It'd give me something to do other than mope around."

"Have you heard from her yet?" Toby wondered.

"I'm sure she's busy with school and things," Lee said, gesturing Toby back to the desk so he could check the book out for him.

Toby made his way, flipping through his book. It looked way interesting. "Yeah, girls are weird like that."

"Yeah." He shrugged and tried to push those thoughts away. He checked Toby's book out to him, gave him his due date back and said, "Hope it helps. If it doesn't, just bring it back and we'll try a new one."

"Thanks, Lee! I should probably get to the reading part, huh?" He so wouldn't.

"Read first," he said and laughed. "And then bring it back."

The library is closed except for other aides and the librarian.

The blank sheet now has doodles on it. Letter writing is hard.
