Basics of Alchemy - First Class - Period Five - Monday, 9/1

As per usual, Abby Irene leaned at the front of the class as her new students made their way into the room. She was pleased to see that she had a smaller collection of students than last semester as, of course, the class was somewhat more intensive.

As soon as they were all in their seats, she gave them a bow and moved from her spot at her desk to the middle of the front of the room.

"Good afternoon, class," she greeted them with a smile, "I'm glad to see some old faces and even more glad to see new ones. Let's get on with it, shall we?"

"Thank you. I'm sorry about missing the last session of last class, by the way. I had to go out of town at the last minute to help my dad." It might not have mattered in the grand scheme of things, but he still wanted to apologize.

"Thank you for informing me," she said with genuine appreciation. After all, the most important thing was that the boy was all right. And had the care to apologize.
