And over here was another section of tables and chairs, still close to the food so no one accidentally starved while trying to avoid the masses.

Peter looked confused. "Someone talked about me on the shuttle?"

Joan scratched her head. "No... but I talked to you. Remember? I'm Joan. You're Jess. You told me you weren't thrilled about coming here."

"Ahhhh," Peter said as he got it. "Close, but not quite. You're Joan, I'm Peter Petrelli. Nice to meet you."

"You're Peter? But..." Joan shook her head. "I'm sorry. I thought you were the guy I met this morning. He looked just like you."

"You'll get that in Fandom a lot," Peter said. He thought of Dean and Alec and said, "Some folks are practically the same person. It's a little weird."

"I'm not sure what to do with that," Joan admitted.

"Give it time," Peter said. "We all had to get used to it."

Joan twirled a strand of hair around her finger. "Do they put drugs in the water or something?"

"Sadly no," Peter said, not without sympathy.

"Okay, then," Joan said. "I... wonder if I should call my therapist."

"You're not crazy," Peter said, gently. "Well - not for any of this Fandom stuff anyway."

"Are you sure?" Joan asked. "Cause... it does seem kind of crazy."

"100%," Peter said, trying to look her in the eye so he could show her that there was no need to panic. He decided to share a little, in case it would help. "People thought I was crazy at first too."

"Really? How come?" Joan asked.

"I tried to see if I could fly by jumping off a roof," Peter said.

Joan gasped. "Obviously you didn't get hurt though."

"Oh no, I ended up in the hospital." Peter gave a wry grin. "That's when they thought I was crazy."

"You look fine now," Joan said. "No ~~hot~~ scars or anything."

"I've got the power to heal myself," Peter explained.

"Oh."

Joan considered that. "So you can't fly then?"

"Nope," Peter said. "I've got that one too."

"Who are you? ~~meta for Superman~~?"

"Still Peter Petrelli," he assured her. "But it turns out I do have a power. It's copying other people's powers. Once I figured that out, I realized I wasn't going crazy."

Joan nodded. She wondered if her hallucinations from last year were some kind of power.

"Well, it's good that you know you're not crazy."
