Living On Your Own - Friday - Period One

There was a Meg standing in front of the class today rather than the Tyler that was usually there. She looked way more cheerful than any human being had any right to be this early in the morning.

"Okay, so Professor Durden has some stuff to do that's not here so that's why I'm standing here today and not him. Don't worry, I'm not going to teach anything. It's the last day of class and I don't think any of you would listen to me if I tried to teach anyways," she said. Meg also knew that some people couldn't handle the bouncy spaz that was her in the mornings. "Today we're going to watch a movie that has nothing to do with this class but, oh my god, is Russell Crowe hot in that little man-skirt."

"OH!" Meg bounced again. "Professor Durden told me to tell you that you guys rocked. And I agree. I'll even add an 'you're awesome'. You're awesome. There. Okay, movie time!"

"I'm bored?" he shrugged a shoulder and he wasn't going to admit out loud that maybe he didn't mind.

She just grinned. "I'm sure that's it."

"Don't be smug," he grumbled. "You're talking to me too."

Another grin. "Funny how that works out."

"Yeah," he let out a breath. "So what do you like to do if not watch movies?"

"I garden a lot," she said easily. "I talk a lot."

And train, but.

"I don't like inaction much."

Right, he remembered the flowers. "I don't think gardening is my thing."

Ino grinned. "Have you ever tried it?"

Teasing.

"No," he made a face. "I have better things to do!"

"Like what?"

"Um... Well not here on the island," he said quickly.

She tilted her head curiously at him.

"Uh huh."

Yeah, she didn't believe him.

"What? You think I'm some kind of loser without a life or something?" he glared at her.

"You said it, not me!"

He rolled his eyes. "I don't have to explain myself to you."

"And I'll go on thinking you're a no-life, loser."

She wouldn't, but it was fun to rile him up.

"What makes you think I even care what you think?" he wanted to know.

"What makes you think I care what you care what I think?"

Innocently.

...did that even make sense?

He stared at her. "That doesn't even make sense."

"It did so!"

Maybe. Or not.

"Did not," he smirked, because he had fun riling her up too.

She crossed her arms and huffed at him.

"Did so."

He raised an eyebrow, looking mostly amused now. "Did."

She just stuck her tongue out at him.

She wasn't falling for that. Hmph.
