Karal and Altra opened the library, then settled down behind the counter to enter the shipment of new books into the system.

Karal still didn't like the computer, necessary evil though it was, but Altra was rather fond of using the mouse.

Liir slipped into the library, a small bag of fragrant food (http://fotocuisine.com/2008/08/21/hot-and-sour-soup-with-bread-bowl/) in his hands, as per usual.

"Here again," he said with a smile. He was in an extraordinarily good mood today, it seemed.

"Good morning, Liir," Karal called as Altra looked up. "You look happy this morning, and that smells wonderful."

"No reason not to be," though he has no idea how happy he'll be later, "and I thought it smelled all right myself. Couldn't bring you something terrible to have for lunch."

He'd put in chicken instead of tofu to cater to Altra.

"No deer? I think I heard Evey was back to normal, though I've not been listening to the radio much of late."

Especially not last night.

Karal beamed. "She is back to being herself," he said happily.

"I'm glad for you then."

Liir was just in a good mood at the moment. But he leaned over to peer at Altra.

"Were you up on starting magic lessons sometime next week then?"

Altra nodded. :Next week,: he said. :I'll come and find you.:

"And we'll be back in the dorms, which will be much easier," Karal added.

"I should think so."

He grinned.

"I'll just putter about and continue with my gooseball in the interim then. It's been fun enough, really. And probably good that I'm getting out more. Ino's been on me for staying in my room too much."

But that had, thankfully, been dealt with. And he felt quite a bit more settled into his skin.

"I think Ino is right, it is good," he agreed. "And you can always call me if you want to go out and you don't want to go alone."

"I'll have to take you up on that. I haven't seen you much of late," he admitted with a brief smile.

"Though I don't go out much other than to practice my stances and the ball game. Ino and I discussed it and... I'm a lot less nervous about it."

He shrugged, still smiling even if it faded just a touch.

"I sort of figured I wasn't good at it, after Andrew. But Ino and I talked and it helped." He grinned now. "She's very smart."

"She is," he said with an answering smile. "And I'm sorry I haven't seen as much of you lately. I've been keeping mostly to myself." He lifted one shoulder. "I seem to spend a lot of time thinking, but I can always be interrupted."

"The both of us," he admitted.

"Perhaps we can sit in the same room and think. Or will we disrupt each other."

Karal started to laugh. "Only if we think particularly loudly," he teased. "Otherwise I'm sure we'd be fine."

"We'll have to see sometime."

He grinned and threw off a salute of sorts.

"For the moment, though, I'll be heading off to work. I'll look for you later, perhaps?"
