Anemone arrived at the library extra-early today, in an attempt to make up for not opening it last week.  Yes, she'd been a butterfly,  but around here that really wasn't an excuse. 

Today you might hear her off somewhere in the endless stacks of books, singing as she puts things away.  Gulliver's at the desk for all your basic needs. 

[OCD free for the rest of teh summer!  BECAUSE I CAN.  ETA:  Ino visiting is fine for broadcast, contents of their discussion and the prank is so NFB.]

"Anemone?" Ino called, grinning a bit at Gulliver as she looked around. "You here and talking to people today?"

"That depends on what you want!" a voice sing-songed from somewhere back in the geography section. "I might be imaginary."

"Do you think you'll be imaginary for talk of exploding pies?" she called, leaning against the front counter.

That earned a speculative silence, and then there was a muffled thump. A moment later, Anemone appeared from behind Special Collections. "Did you say exploding pie?"

"I seriously did." She grinned. "Exploding pie would be fun to make for Friday, don't you think?"

"It's a thank-you gift. For all the very useful things we learned," Anemone replied. "I think exploding pie would be fantastic for Friday."

"I don't usually make my pies to explode... do you have any ideas?"

[intraspective]

"That was exactly my reasoning," she replied. "We've learned so much from him, and this would be the perfect way of showing our appreciation."

"And, now, I've got a few ideas? But I'm not sure how well they'd work because of the baking--I've never tried to bake an exploding tag before, but normally they're only triggered by chakra, so..." A beat. "Chakra is spiritual energy, basically. But the actual tag is paper..."

"We could do a lattice-crust," Anemone mused, lacing her fingers. "Could we roll the tag very very tightly, and push it down inside the pie once it's done baking? Or we could set it under the pie. That's not exactly exploding pie, but it's an option."

[intraspective]

"The tags can be rolled no problem," she said thoughtfully. "They were designed to be versatile, after all. I'm still not sure if baking it would even hurt it--I mean, really, cupcakes have the little paper cups, right?"

"We can try it! Maybe in a cupcake-size to start." Grinning evilly, Anemone scampered over to the desk, dislodging Gulliver from his seat on her notebook. "The big question is: What kind of pie? We need something nice and messy, I think."

[intraspective]

"We'll definitely have to try it now! How about blueberry? Or blackberry?" Ino suggested. "Something that'll splatter nicely and might stain if he doesn't get it out quick enough."

Ino was nice, really.

"Maybe a mixed-berry one? For maximum effect?"

"Raspberry too, for that bit of red to tie it all together," Anemone replied. "Mixed berry it is, with whipped cream on top. Just because we can."

Anemone wasn't being mean, she was just being creative. It was another one of her art projects.

She started writing up the ingredients list, humming happily. "We can bake this up no problem! How many should we make?" Because clearly, a prank like this shouldn't be limited to just one target.

"Definitely more than one," she said, tapping her fingers as she considered it. "Ten at the most, I'd think. People are liable to get wise to our pies after the first few."

"Though... if we gift-wrapped them and left them for people to find... we might be able to hit more that way."

"It will also make it harder to figure out who did it, if the attacks appear to be random," Anemone agreed, nodding. "Durden gets one, and I bet Murdock would think it was funny. Who else do we have to hit?"

[intraspective]

"Reno," Ino decided. "Because, really, it's not stealing his booze but I should do something to further his paranoia at the moment, I think. Unless we're not hitting students as well? If we are I can come up with more names, um, Temari," that one was her being deliberately petty, yes, "I'd bet Jamie would find it funny. Deadpool, and Cable-san for adults? As long as, like, it was just exploding pie I don't think Cable-san would get too put out about it. He's had a lot worse."

Understatement of the century there.

"...should we hit ourselves with it? That'd throw suspicion off of us even more."

"We can hit students," she answered. "Maybe one in the second floor common room, and I can get splattered that way. Take out a load of students in one swoop!"

"Maybe put several in each common room? At different times of the day? That way people'll get splattered no matter when they go in."
