"Good morning," John greeted the class as they filed into the danger shop turned garage. "Today we're going to focus on the battery. The thing you will most likely need to do in regards to a car battery is jumpstart it. Though it doesn't hurt to know how to change your battery either." He demonstrated both procedures.

"Really, neither's that hard," he said as he stepped back and wiped his hands on a grease cloth, "as long as you pay attention to details and do things in the right order so you don't end up with sparkage." He looked around. "Your turn."

Inara had no illusions about her ability to replace a battery and opted to jump start it instead.

Working slowly and carefully, she actually managed to get it the third time. Plus, she didn't blow up, so that was especially satisfying.
