Escape Artistry: Week 4, Period 3 (Thurs. 07/31)

When students entered the Danger Shop, they were again faced with a watery situation that looked an awful lot like their current Australian port. Everyone had been ~~handwavily~~ instructed to wear swimming gear, and if they failed to remember, the room would provide it for them and they could ~~handwavily~~ change. Once everyone was appropriately dressed, they were given handouts, ushered onto the waiting boat, and taken quickly out to sea.

"Like you saw from the handout, today you're escaping from sharks," Ronon said. "Remember to only engage the shark if it attacks you first. If you play dead, it's less likely to attack than if you flail in terror." He looked at various students to be sure they were paying close attention to these instructions. "Any questions before you make your escape?"

While Ronon talks, mingle, be horrified that this is what radio inspired in the teacher.

This is where you can refuse to participate or ask questions, etc.

You've been dropped in the water amongst a bunch of bull sharks (http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/staticfiles/NGS/Shared/StaticFiles/animals/images/primary/bull-shark.jpg). They're not very nice and rather hungry. What do you do? (Other than kill the professor for chumming the water.)

She won the job fair and square.

He's paying close attention to the class, ready to intervene as they go up against the sharks as necessary. *cough* Andrew.

I spent all day yesterday thinking it was Thursday. Whoops!

Also, he's totally crushing a can against his forehead in the post icon. *loves*

Johnny was going to try and stay near other students, but seriously? A shark even acted like it was going to attack, it would be roasted shark for everyone. Mm.

Helen wasn't terribly thrilled about being dropped in with the sharks, but she thought perhaps she might be able to control them the way she did so many other animals.

Helen was here if anyone needed anything.

Ronon would be interested to know if everything on Earth 'tastes like chicken' as he's been told.

The sharks swam about the chummed water, looking for something interesting to bump into.

Gwen was harbouring absolutely no fantasies about pushing Ronon into shark-infested water.

None.

At all.

Johnny kind of acted dead. Hard to do when one was treading water and keeping a keen eye on the sharks. He didn't want to lose any body parts thank you very much.

Swimming was not something Helen had done much of, but she could keep herself afloat without too much flailing. She watched the sharks carefully, focusing her attention to be ready to tell them to stay away if they got too close. She'd never tried to control a shark, but she figured it was worth a try.

Gwen raised her hand. "Can we find a chip shop and eat the sharks instead? Australians are supposed to do a decent flake."

"None in the sim," Ronon told her with a shake of his mane, thinking he could go for some food. "How 'bout after."

Noting his moving legs, a shark approached and moved to bump his tail against Johnny as he passed.

"Right, after then," Gwen replied, before muttering "These bloody safety protocols better work."

A bull shark approached quickly, it was hungry and had been programmed to try to get some food here.
