Escape Artistry: Week 4, Period 3 (Thurs. 07/31)

When students entered the Danger Shop, they were again faced with a watery situation that looked an awful lot like their current Australian port. Everyone had been handwavily instructed to wear swimming gear, and if they failed to remember, the room would provide it for them and they could handwavily change. Once everyone was appropriately dressed, they were given handouts, ushered onto the waiting boat, and taken quickly out to sea.

"Like you saw from the handout, today you're escaping from sharks," Ronon said. "Remember to only engage the shark if it attacks you first. If you play dead, it's less likely to attack than if you flail in terror." He looked at various students to be sure they were paying close attention to these instructions. "Any questions before you make your escape?"

Ronon would be interested to know if everything on Earth 'tastes like chicken' as he's been told.

The sharks swam about the chummed water, looking for something interesting to bump into.

Johnny kind of acted dead. Hard to do when one was treading water and keeping a keen eye on the sharks. He didn't want to lose any body parts thank you very much.

Noting his moving legs, a shark approached and moved to bump his tail against Johnny as he passed.

Okay, yeah, the bump freaked him out and Johnny began to swim away from the other students. Probably not a smart idea but he wouldn't take a chance when he flamed up.

He didn't flame up yet, but he was getting ready.

The shark followed, jaws opening wide in an attack, not knowing about Johnny's barbecue plans.

Johnny saw it, flamed up, and shot a huge fireball towards the shark. And another one just to be on the safe side. The water around him began to boil.

Air-exposed flesh on fire the shark thrashed in the boiling water and died.

Mmm. Shark steak.

Yeah, the whole water issue prevented Johnny from fulling engaging his flame ability, but he killed the shark and he was done. He swam back for the boat.
