“So you’ve guys survived first dates, first kisses and are now in an established relationship. Yay!” Marshall said, clapping his hands together. “You now have a person to share everything with and spend every waking moment with. Okay, maybe not every waking moment, cause you don’t see Lily in here right now, but close.”

“Part of your responsibilities when you get into a relationship is integrating your girl or boyfriend in with your friends or family. Mixing your friends with your significant other shouldn’t be too hard. After all, you and your friends have stuff in common and you and your girl/boyfriend have stuff in common. The logical assumption would be that your friends and your boy/girlfriend would have stuff in common,” Marshall said. “Easy. My wife and I have all the same friends. Except for Brad. But he and I have a weird relationship…”

Marshall coughed. “Anyways. Family is not as easy. Your friends are protective but your family is super, super protective. And your family is also more likely to tell embarrassing stories and break out pictures of you. No, they don’t really hate you. They just care in a mean fashion.”

“And it’s just as nerve-wracking when you meet someone else’s parents for the first time. The most important thing to do in that situation is relax and be yourself. The first few times you meet your significant other’s parents you should treat them like you would treat your boss,” he said. “Be polite but be interesting. If they make a mean comment to you just pretend to ignore because you don’t want to get fired. And no sex stories.”

“So today we’re going to watch a movie about somebody meeting someone’s parents for the first time. This is pretty much a “what not to do” video,” he said. “Have fun!”

You really, really don't want to know about Marshall and Brad.

Angela wasn't really listening, so much as considering Johnny's suggestion of yesterday. If she had been listening, the chances were that no, she did't want to know about Marshall and Brad.

Anyway, at least her musings were a little bit related to the subject.

Considering that Anemone didn't have any parents, this was a complete non-issue for her. She opted to spend the lecture coloring instead.

Worf leaned over to Anemone. "Do you understand any of this?" He asked gesturing toward the movie and the teacher.

Anemone looked up at the movie and shook her head. "I don't have parents," she said simply. "I don't think I even know anyone at home that has parents, so I don't know if this is a real-movie or a fake-movie. Families couldn't possibly be this bad, could they?"

"This is a preposterous concept," Worf agreed as he crossed his arms. "I don't understand why any one would take this actions."

"If they yell or insult you, you can't just stand there and take it," Anemone agreed. "No one respects a doormat. A vase or two to the head would stop the abuse. Has Mr. Marshall ever actually been in a relationship? If I didn't have Miss Lily for another class, I'd think he was making it all up."

"His expertise seems to be highly idealized," Worf replied. "And very Earth-centric."

"Idealists are cute, and fun to chase," she answered cheerfully. "Although really, it makes you wonder how he got hired. Shouldn't someone a bit more, ah, practical, be better? Or someone who has experience with different types of relationships? How does he know his way is best?"

"He is using his own personal frame of reference," Worf replied. "Which to him is an ideal relationship. It may work well for humans though I doubt it would be helpful in my case."

"What's your 'case' like?" Anemone asked. "Is it that different from humans?"

"We certainly don't ask for 'dates' in Karaoke bars," Worf replied gruffly.

Summer was practically an expert at this. After all, she met both of Chris's moms.

"At least you got that part over with," Chris whispered.

No, he wasn't nervous about the possibility of meeting Summer's family. Not even a little.

"If I can survive meeting your moms, you'll be okay meeting my dad," Summer whispered back. "Your moms are scary."

Chris nodded. "There's only one of him. That's gotta be in my favor."

"As far as I know," Summer replied. "I'm sure he would like you."

"And I can always orb away if he tries to kill me."

Summer gave him a reassuring smile. "He wouldn't try to kill you. When you meet him, just be yourself."

Chris smiled back, nervously. "I trust you."

"Good," Summer said, reaching for his hand. "I trust you, too."

He squeezed her hand.
