E-mails had ~~handwavily~~ been sent out to let the students know to meet in the Danger Shop, which was set up today to look like a playground. Lily was standing inside, smiling and waving them in, always glad to have a new class. Even if this one was a lot taller than what she was used to.

"Hi," Lily greeted them. "Welcome to Childhood Games. I'm Lily Aldrin, and I'll be your teacher for this workshop. Now, I do teach for a living, but it tends to be towards kindergartners. Which, okay, may be who I geared this class towards, but I figure, why can't you guys have some fun, right? Normally I want to meet outside by the campgrounds, because it's more fun, but that doesn't really work so well when you're in Antarctica. At least not if you don't want it to end in a clinic visit, which is not happening on day one. Also, one last note before we start, I don't have a TA yet, and this is the easiest class ever. If you want in, see me afterwards.

"For our first class, I want everyone to stand up and tell the class your name and something interesting about yourself. And then we're going to start off simple, playing a game called Telephone. If you're new to this planet, the telephone is a thing you use to talk to people when you're not in the same room with them that's not yelling. How you play is that one person starts off by whispering something in the next person's ear. Anything. It could be silly or serious, just please keep it clean. This is a playground today, you know. The one who heard it whispers what they heard to the next person, who whispers it to the next person, and at the end we see what we end up with. Any questions?

"All right, introductions first. Let's start with... you," she said, nodding at someone at random.

Robin had tried to catch up on radio podcasts from the past couple days, which was why, when she heard Saturday's broadcast and Barney's insane yelling at her (she was so not touring with NKOTB, thanks), the first thing she'd done was call Lily. Her Lily, anyway, to check that she was in New York.

Having done that, she decided to start up at the school and see if she could locate Marshall, at least. When she found the Danger Shop and peeked to see who was in it, she contained her glee. At least, until Lily noticed who'd stopped by. She'd interrupted enough kindergarten classes to know that it wasn't hard to distract Ms. Aldrin from teaching under normal circumstances.

And no it wasn't hard at all. Which would be why there was a smiling Lily waving happily.

Robin waved, grinning, and waited until it looked like things were kind of wrapped. "So you decided you could leave Ted at the mercy of his beard?"

"I had to. I think it was plotting against me," Lily said seriously.

"I like the breakup beard," Robin offered. "Or what I saw of it last year."

Lily looked at her sadly, and shook her head. "It's beyond that now."

She winced. "And your version of me is off in Argentina, right? No chance of coming back early and making him shave it off out of spite or something?"

"I'm not sure he would anyway," Lily frowned. "I tried to get him to shave it off, I really did. I tried leaving an electric razor under his pillow when I got desperate in case it worked by osmosis, but it was too lumpy for him not to notice."

Of course Marshall was there to see how Lily's first day was going.

"Hi!" Lily greeted him. "This is place is weird. I asked for people to say something interesting about themselves and you know, I thought I was being hazed?"

"If this was any other place I would think that, yes, you were being hazed," Marshall said. "But here I tend to believe whatever anybody tells me."

"I have a super soldier, some kids from the future, a teleportation specialist, a former pony- with wings, and one of them is way, way older than me," she said. "When no one started snickering when talking I started to figure out they were serious."

"I've got a student this semester who is a seven foot tall robot. His name is Bumblebee," Marshall said seriously. "I guess I should have covered the weirdness of this place more when I was on the phone with you."

"...Seven foot tall robot?"

"Yeah," Marshall said, nodding. "And the weird thing? He's kind of cute. When I asked him what he looked for in a significant other he sang me a little song."

"That's so cute," Lily decided. "But now I have to ask what song."

Juli would be rather unbearably remiss in her duties as a 'buddy' if she did not, at the very least, make certain that everything was alright on the first day of class.

"Ms. Aldrin?"

Lily looked up, saw an adult, and then corrected, "Lily. Hi. Come on in."

"Lily then," she said, with a smile. "I'm Dr. Juli Mizrahi, please call me Juli. The school assigned me to make sure you're settling in alright."

"Oh hi!" she said more brightly, then immediately added, "I think this place is a little off."

Juli was not going to laugh. No, really. Carefully suppressing any urge to do so, she tilted her head slightly. "A little off? How so?"

"I had a Klingon playing Telephone today," Lily said, thinking that pretty much summed it up. She didn't even know what a Klingon was.

"Would it help," she asked as, yes, that did sum it up quite nicely. "If I told you it gets easier with time?"

"Yes. Especially since my husband's all used to it already. Some warning would have been nice..."
