Childhood Games, Class #1, Thursday

E-mails had handwavily been sent out to let the students know to meet in the Danger Shop, which was set up today to look like a playground. Lily was standing inside, smiling and waving them in, always glad to have a new class. Even if this one was a lot taller than what she was used to.

"Hi," Lily greeted them. "Welcome to Childhood Games. I'm Lily Aldrin, and I'll be your teacher for this workshop. Now, I do teach for a living, but it tends to be towards kindergartners. Which, okay, may be who I geared this class towards, but I figure, why can't you guys have some fun, right? Normally I want to meet outside by the campgrounds, because it's more fun, but that doesn't really work so well when you're in Antarctica. At least not if you don't want it to end in a clinic visit, which is not happening on day one. Also, one last note before we start, I don't have a TA yet, and this is the easiest class ever. If you want in, see me afterwards.

"For our first class, I want everyone to stand up and tell the class your name and something interesting about yourself. And then we're going to start off simple, playing a game called Telephone. If you're new to this planet, the telephone is a thing you use to talk to people when you're not in the same room with them that's not yelling. How you play is that one person starts off by whispering something in the next person's ear. Anything. It could be silly or serious, just please keep it clean. This is a playground today, you know. The one who heard it whispers what they heard to the next person, who whispers it to the next person, and at the end we see what we end up with. Any questions?

"All right, introductions first. Let's start with... you," she said, nodding at someone at random.

"My Name Is Gladys," she intoned, then stopped. She wasn't sure what about her was interesting. "And I Am One Thousand And Fifty Four Years Old," she finally said.

"I'm Kaylee!" she said exuberantly. "I'm sixteen an' I'm from 'nother galaxy. An' 500 years in the future!"

Okay, she thought it was still interesting.

"I'm Francine, and--" And here she had to pause, because there was nothing interesting about her. Well, nothing she wanted to repeat, and anyway that was a thing that had happened to her, and she'd call it more humiliating than in... Oh - wait. "--and that one weekend we all turned into ponies? I was a pony with wings. And they worked. It was awesome."

"Hi, I'm Amber Atkins. I tap dance and I used to make dead people pretty for funeral services. Y'know, frosty, clownish, whatever the family requested, I did it." She smiled wide. "And let me tell you - Mount Rose, Minnesota had a lot of dead people." Pause. "Just not all at once, mind you."

"I'm Lois Lane and I grew up living on military bases," Lois figured that would be the safest answer. The other kids seemed to have weirded Lily out enough.

"I'm Turtle Wexler," she said, standing up proudly, "and I won my first official court case when I was only fifteen years old."

Sure, she'd used that one before, but it always impressed Mister Petrelli a lot, and, hey, it was a classic. An oldie, but a goodie.

Re: Talk to Lily

Robin had tried to catch up on radio podcasts from the past couple days, which was why, when she heard Saturday's broadcast and Barney's insane yelling at her (she was so not touring with NKOTB, thanks), the first thing she'd done was call Lily. Her Lily, anyway, to check that she was in New York.

Having done that, she decided to start up at the school and see if she could locate Marshall, at least. When she found the Danger Shop and peeked to see who was in it, she contained her glee. At least, until Lily noticed who'd stopped by. She'd interrupted enough kindergarten classes to know that it wasn't hard to distract Ms. Aldrin from teaching under normal circumstances.
