Warren continued not moving, his expression a somewhat amusing blend of shocked and horrified, and every muscle in his body absurdly tense.

"I hate you so much right now," he informed her. "You have no idea."

She was hugging him. What the hell?

"Awwwwwwwww," she said, not letting go yet. "We should do this all the time. Daily hugs. Wouldn't that rule?"

"No," he grunted, still not moving, still not resisting. "It wouldn't."

At all. Really. Ugh.

The hug was kind of nice, though.

"I bet it would," Rikku said, finally standing up again. "Next time I see you. More hugs. Hugs rule."

Hugs were always awesome. More so for people who completely couldn't admit they needed them.

Warren was going to stand up, himself. And stare at her. If he stared hard enough, maybe he'd stare her down and this would never happen again.

He doubted it, though. But the hug was a pretty good sign that he'd had enough of this picnic and it was time to retreat to somewhere less... public.

...

"Stupid hugs," he mumbled. And he wasn't at all hoping for more sometime in the future. He was mean and scary and damn it, he didn't do hugs at all.
