"My parents think girls and guys live in separate dorms here," Meg admitted. "And, no, they haven't met anybody from here. My sister has met Dean though. Then again, I think Lizzie is worse than Dean or Alec when it comes to that sort of thing."

Meg chuckled. "I'd totally be up for a dawn or midnight ritual dance. I might need some liquor beforehand, but I'll do it."

"Wow." She couldn't even imagine having kept that secret from Buffy for two years. "Wait. You have a sister who's worse than Dean or Alec? How?"

"We totally should," she nodded enthusiastically. "This is important, and I'm up for anything but tequila, because that apparently ends very badly for other people."

"Let's just say she did things that landed her in an all girls Catholic school," she said, shaking her head. Lizzie had an affinity for older men.

"I heard. You get anywhere near my hair with a sharp object and I'll have to hurt you," she teased.

"Wow. That's...wow." She wasn't sure, but she thought she was impressed.

Dawn glanced around oh-so-casually, looking for Sheppard. "I've been hiding from John all week. I think he may kill me. I wouldn't cut your hair, though. It doesn't stick up funny." At least, she thought that was her logic.

"I'm sure John won't kill you," Meg said. "...He might try to cut your hair though."

"Noooooo..." she groaned. "I like my hair."

"Maybe we could add a move to our ritual dance that prevents unwanted hair cutting?"

"...no one's going to see it but us, right?"

"Oh my god, nobody else can see it," Meg said, shaking her head quickly.

"Then maybe we should do that," she agreed, glancing around again, this time looking out for radio squirrels. "Just to be on the safe side."

"Yeah we should. I mean, I don't think anybody is going to try to cut my hair but it couldn't hurt to protect against it anyways,"

"So, the next question is, can we do this in normal clothes, or do we have to be all...you know about it?"

"Hey, you're the one that knows about this magical sort of stuff," Meg said, holding up her hands. "What usually works best?"

"Weeeeeell," Dawn fidgeted, twirling hair around her finger, "I know there are some that work better if you're naked, but if we're making this one up anyway..."

"Uh..." Meg wasn't sure if she could do that. "Maybe we could split the difference and just do it in bras and underwear?"

"Better!" Dawn decided immediately, not sure she could have done naked rituals without passing out from embarrassment. "Yes, that's definitely a better idea. See, you're a natural at this!"

"Now there's something to be proud of," Meg said, giggling.

"What?" It totally was, in her opinion.

"Nothing. It's just my parents would have a heart attack if they knew I was going to do anything like this," Meg said, grinning.

"We could just not tell them, like with the co-ed dorms thing."

"Oh I don't tell my parents anything. I'm definitely not going to tell them this,"

"Buffy was like that," Dawn nodded, completely ignoring how she was like that with Buffy and Giles. "Still, I think this is definitely in the better unknown category. Buffy still thinks I have tape on the floor of my room, and that it keeps me from sleeping with Sam. So, I guess whatever works, right?"

Meg laughed. "She really believes that?"

"Oh, yeah. Because it's apparently magical tape, or something."

"Magic tape. I wonder if that'll work with my parents," she said. "Not that I'd need to use that excuse. My parents think I'm an angel. But Lizzie could always use some help."
