"South what?" Momoko asked, as she took a bite out of something else on her plate. "Oh, Wow! Have you tried this?" She held out her plate and pointed to the remnants of something powdered and cake-like, offering a chance for her new food-friend to taste.

Francine shook her head and reached for a bit, after a quick look to verify that she really was offering. "Oh, mmmf. Thaf's gah some kin of cuftar in it I fink." Then, mouth no longer full, she added, "Sorry - southern US. My family's from Tennessee. And we live in Texas now - that's a little more west, but they still do the deep-fried thing too."

"I'm from Tokyo City, Japan." Momoko nibbled at at a small crepe thoughtfully. "We have a lot of fried foods, But I'm a bigger fan of western style cakes and desserts." She finished off the crepe and smiled.

"You won't run out of those around here," Francine said with a grin. "There's a bakery in town. And an ice cream parlor."
