Well. That was... not exactly the response that Warren was expecting.

So he grunted again, poked at one of the cookies on his plate (sullen boys could eat cookies too, dammit), and attempted to continue scowling.

"I'm not cute," he insisted. His insistence was, quite possibly, cuter as a result.

Awwwwwww.

"Totally are," she said. "Don't argue with me on that."

"I'll argue," he decided. Because he could argue. If she was going to torment him, then he was going to be argumentative, damn it. "I'm not."

[Running to work! SP for the win?]

"Sure then, argue," that got a grin though. "And that just makes it even cuter, thus proving my point."

[Always!]

"I hate you so, so, so damn much," Warren grumped, debating if he should get up and move to a different table, or if she'd follow him there, too.

He was going to glance around in an attempt to find another empty table anyhow.

"And yet," she said. "Here you are."

Ino would totally follow him.

"I was here first," Warren informed her as though he expected it would make any difference. Really, he should have known better. "I didn't invite you."

"Do I look like the kind of girl that's put off by that?"

"Do I look like the kind of guy who cares what kind of girl you look like?"

This could go on all day.

This could, yeah, so very easily go on all day.

"Oh," she said lightly. "I don't know. 'Cause so far you're just Mr. Grumpy, really."

The glaring? It was epic.

"I'm not grumpy."

He was. He really, really was. And getting more grumpy by the moment.

"Or cute."

She laughed.

"Oh, I do like you."

That earned an exasperated noise, and Warren stood up.

And he looked around, realized that there really wasn't anywhere to retreat to, and he sat down again.

"Why?"

Ino considered that. "Just because."

"Just... Because."

He was starting to get a headache.

"There's nothing I can say to make you change your mind and decide you hate me, is there?"

...

Ino smiled brightly. "Nope!"

Warren grunted and shoved his plate across the table.

"Eat a cookie or something."

It was his hope that filling her mouth with something meant that she wouldn't be speaking.

She'd totally won.

"Thanks," she chirped, snagging one.

She did win.

Warren wasn't ever, ever going to admit it, though.

"Don't let it go to your head."

"Too late," she said, nibbling on the cookie.

"I still hate you."

He did. A lot.

Peh. Happy people.

She smiled. Indulgently.

"I know."

"Good."

Good.

"Good."
