Ino all but vibrated with glee as she bounced looking for people to talk to.

Jack waved as he wandered.

"Hi!" she chirped when she noticed the wave.

"Hey! I have a little brother!" he exclaimed. It was news to him.

"Oh yeah?" she asked. "Who?"

"Someone named Itchy-go," he stated. Totally pronouncing it correctly. "I'ts my first little brother!" Aww, Jack's a family man.

Ino cringed. "I'm pretty sure that you mean Ichigo?" With the proper pronunciation, seriously.

"Maybe," he said. Potato, pahtahto. "But still, sibling. You have any?" Jack's not gonna let a little thing like ~~horribly~~ mispronouncing a name slow him down.

"Not this time 'round," she admitted. "Which sucks, but whatever."

"Maybe we can share mine?" he offered. "Trade weekends or days or something. I dunno. I'm sorry, Ino."

Ino, huh, Ino was pretty good with that arrangement. "Seriously?"

"Sure!" He grinned. Then he thought. The grin faded. "Probably should check with Itchy-go first, though. Right?"

"I've met him," she said brightly. "I'm sure I can talk him into it. Or something."

Eventually, Romeo wandered Ino-ward.

Good day, Ino. So has there been anyone interesting, yet?" he asked idly.

"Hiiii, Romeo!" Ino chirped. "Isn't this the best day ever?"

Guess who was over excited. Go on, guess.

"It's cold," Romeo pointed out, because he wasn't really capable of not complaining about the weather given half the opportunity. "I take it there are good new people, though?"

"It's warmer than it has been!" she pointed out right back. "And yes, I'm having fun. I met a girl who liked to argue, a boy whose brain I broke, and a really grumpy boy I'm going to have to stalk now 'cause he said he hates me."

...yes.

"But it's cold for July," he returned ~~because the mun failed to check the forecast for the day, duh~~.

And blinked just a little at Ino's list. "So you have one broken brain and one person to stalk," he nodded. "That sounds like great deal of accomplishment for one day. Did you tell the poor boy about magic, or just that the island moves?"

"Well, yes, but there's enough excitement that the cold is okay." Or something. Shush.

"And I went one better," she declared. "I told him 'bout the possible-future children thing. Totally maximum brain-breakage there."

"I would have run for the first plane home if someone had told m about that," Romeo said. "No, I'd have thought you mad, but then tried to fly home anyhow."

He looked around. "Which one did you break?"

"The orange-haired kid," she said, going on tip-toes to spot him, "that one. I like him. He's got spirit."

A beat.

"And, well, it's the truth," Ino said loftily. "It's my duty as a more experienced Fandomite to break them."

"So I've been falling down on the clock," Romeo said, mock-sadly, after his own glance at the orange-haired lad. "I didn't even break my little sibling last term, but he had the advantage of having lived here as a child."

"That's totally an advantage there," Ino noted. "And yes, breaking them is way too much fun."

"Then I've definitely been derelict in my duties -- here six months, with no broken brains to show at all," Romeo said, mock-seriously. "If I keep up the trend, why they may not let me graduate."

She shook her head mock-woefully. "You've totally got to fix that, and quickly."

Ino would, honestly, be perfectly happy if no one ever graduated. Graduations sucked because people left.
