Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Despite the fact that they were still in Antarctica, the weather for the picnic was beautiful. It was sunny, warm, and clear enough to see many of the icebergs circling the island from the school's location. If people were still cold, there was more warm food than usual out on the tables, and hot drinks were being kept well-stocked.

Along with the tables and chairs near the food, there was a table of nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

It was time for the picnic to begin!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible.]

"A country called Narnia," she said easily. "In another world. Though one of my brothers is actually here with me, while our oldest stays home with our sister."

"Narnia," Chuck said slowly, nodding a little. It sounded like something somebody made up. Chuck thought of his earlier conversation with Blair and was starting to think that maybe she hadn't gone crazy after all. "That far from Earth?"

What? If in Crazytown, do as the crazies do.

"You know, I don't actually know," she replied thoughtfully. "We were all born in England, though. Traveled there by magic."

"That's..." Insane. "Interesting. I've got to admit, I've never heard of people traveling by magic before. How does that work, exactly?"

"You'll think I'm mad if I tell you," she said, sighing. "Honestly, I would think I'm mad, if I didn't know otherwise."

"You've already told me you live in another world that you got to by magic," Chuck said. "It's going to be pretty hard for you to get any crazier in my book."

She smiled lightly. "We went through a wardrobe."

"Oh what do you know, you've proven me wrong," Chuck smirked. "Seriously, a wardrobe?"

"Yes, seriously, a wardrobe," she said dryly. "It doesn't matter to me either way whether you believe me."

"Fair enough," Chuck said, nodding. He had to respect somebody who didn't care what he thought. It was probably for the best if she didn't.

"I imagine you'll find out that I'm right soon enough, in any instance," she replied casually, remembering what Peter and Willow had told her of this place.

"If you were the first person I've talked to today, I would be inclined to disagree," Chuck admitted. He sighed. "But my fake sibling is a witch and apparently we're in Antarctica."

"A witch?" she repeated, her brows shooting up marginally. She made a mental note to try to talk to Edmund if she had a chance. "And yes, I did notice the ice and such, though I wasn't aware that this is Antarctica. I was warned about a great deal of things before I arrived here, though, so I do have a bit of an advantage as far as the strangeness."

"Lucky you," Chuck said, smirking again. "I've got a friend here but I think she gets her kicks by purposely not warning me about these things."

"I can't imagine why that would be any fun for her," Susan lied. Poorly.

"Sure you can't," he said. "I'd be doing the same thing if I were her."
