Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Despite the fact that they were still in Antarctica, the weather for the picnic was beautiful. It was sunny, warm, and clear enough to see many of the icebergs circling the island from the school's location. If people were still cold, there was more warm food than usual out on the tables, and hot drinks were being kept well-stocked.

Along with the tables and chairs near the food, there was a table of nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

It was time for the picnic to begin!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible.]

Smiling in a friendly way, Teddy nodded. "Susan?"

She nodded, dipping a graceful curtsy and smiling slightly as she took in his features. "A pleasure to meet you. How does the day find you?"

Curtsy. Right.

Teddy turned a bit red and ducked his head. "Um, good. Are you... fitting in well?"

Susan smiled a touch wider at the blush, and nodded. "I only just arrived, but really, I should warn you -- my older brother attended this school already, so I'm afraid your task has been rendered the easier for it."

"Peter, right? I met him before..."

"You did?" Susan brightened a bit. "Yes, Peter. And my younger brother Edmund is around here somewhere as well."

"We had a few classes together," Teddy replied. "So, pretty much you don't need my help, huh?"

"Well," Susan offered, "I wasn't given a map or anything, just a general overview of a few things. I knew to expect a few time discrepancies, for instance, since Willow is...not from our world."

"Yeah, you get those a lot," Teddy replied sheepishly. "Um, any questions for now?"

Susan considered for a moment, and asked, "My brother was very fretful when we left, though that's his nature more than anything, really. Is it often dangerous here? It's not a concern of mine, as I've seen battles and can care for myself quite well. I just like to be prepared."

"It... can be. But mostly things work out for the best." Usually. He didn't like to think about the plague.

She nodded, smiling a bit. "All right. Have you been here long?"

"Two years now," Teddy replied with a grin.

"And you like it?" she asked, returning the grin.

"I miss New York still, but... it's kinda become home here."

"Are you from this time, as well?" she asked, tilting her head with interest.

Teddy paused for a moment. "Yeah, pretty much." As much as Marvel gets. "It's, uh, different where I'm from still."

"How strange that must be for you," she said, not without sympathy.

"Better here in ways," Teddy said with a small grin.
