Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Despite the fact that they were still in Antarctica, the weather for the picnic was beautiful. It was sunny, warm, and clear enough to see many of the icebergs circling the island from the school's location. If people were still cold, there was more warm food than usual out on the tables, and hot drinks were being kept well-stocked.

Along with the tables and chairs near the food, there was a table of nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

It was time for the picnic to begin!

"I call it a fashion statement," Deadpool said, totally thinking that fatty got good taste in his comic reading choices.

"And I think it's the hair. Because you really couldn't be more than an inch taller. And, well, then there's Nate who is borderline giant--I watched the special on the Discovery Channel about it-- and you're much shorter than he is."

"It's a gift and a curse," Deadpool said, sighing sadly. "With great power comes great responsibility and other Tobey Macguirisms."

A beat.

"I'm Deadpool, by the way. It normally has a better font than that."

Ronon wasn't even going to bother trying to understand what he meant about Tobey Macguirisms.

"Ronon Dex. What's a font?"

"It's how they make text look different," Deadpool explained oh so helpfully. "And you're my teaching buddy!"

Ronon raised an eyebrow. "I didn't know I needed a buddy to teach." Though Deadpool did look capable of kicking down doors and the like.

"I'm not actually sure what the job entails, other than saying right now that battle royales between the students is not a sufficient final exam."

A beat.

"They get twitchy about it."

This conversation needed a tavern.

Deadpool was all for the potential beer.

"I stopped that after they all tried to break my knee. Kids these days and their inappropriate love for knee breaking. I think they're all part of some sort of mafia."

"I'll watch for low blows," Ronon rumbled. "Anyone in particular to watch out for?" Not that he couldn't handle himself, but he'd take whatever intel he could gather.

Deadpool pondered that for a moment. "Rikku's decent in a fight. She's wee and blond and bouncy and vicious."

There was a lot of pride in that description.

"One day she'll actually take me out." For a little while.

"We did fight a god recently." A beat. "Well, I talked until he was distracted enough for people to get away. Mostly because me and Death got history and we just won't go into that."

"An actual god or one of those impostor-types?" Ronon asked. He'd read a lot of those SG-1 reports about the fakers.
