Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I
Despite the fact that they were still in Antarctica, the weather for the picnic was beautiful. It was sunny, warm, and clear enough to see many of the icebergs circling the island from the school's location. If people were still cold, there was more warm food than usual out on the tables, and hot drinks were being kept well-stocked.
Along with the tables and chairs near the food, there was a table of nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students.
It was time for the picnic to begin!
[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible.]

"It's a nice place. And the manager, Mary Connell, is a sweet woman. Very helpful."
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
She logged the name of Miss Connell in her memory. She would mention that Murdock had sent her.
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
"And hopefully nothin' weird will hit too soon for ya."
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
"I seriously doubt anything here will trouble me overly much. I'm made of sterner stuff, as they say."
She looked out over the lawn at the other students and teachers and such.
"As my class is Wednesday, I will thankfully have a couple of days to get settled in before standing at the front of a classroom."
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
"Hey; mine's then too. In the afternoon. Maybe we'll run into each other between classes or somethin'."
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
She considered him for a moment, considered how her idea might be taken by the gentleman, and finally just decided it was worth a shot.
"Perhaps we could share lunch after my class and before yours?"
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
He gave her a wide smile. "Sure! I'd love that! I've met a number of the other teachers, but don't often get a chance to hang out with 'em much. There's a number of places in town that offer great stuff. A couple of diners and the pizza shop. Whatever you'd be up for, I'm game."
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
"And I would be happy to let you pick the location. As you would know better than I would."
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
"Great!" he grinned. "There's a new-er place in town that I haven't had a chance to check out yet. Seems like lunch would be a good opportunity."

Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
handwavilymeet here and then I'll escort you over. I'm sure you'll be more familiar with the place by then, but it can't hurt to have a tour guide, eh?" he grinned."I look forward it to, dear lady," he tipped his hat and bowed slightly.
Re: Meet Your Teachers (Summer 2008 - 2.0)
"As do I."
