Study Hall -- Thursday, October 6th

Sarah doesn't bother announcing the study hall or the announcements. She is leaning back in her desk chair, chain-smoking cigarettes while she nurses a cup of hot black coffee and occasionally rocks back and forth in the chair. She's wearing dark sunglasses and her hair is a mess. Every once in a while, she stops moving, and it's entirely possible she's napping.

There's a large bowl of marbles on the desk in front of her. If anybody pisses her off or annoys her, she may or may not peg a marble at their head, depending on whether or not she gives enough of a shit.

Belthazor saunters in and takes a seat. He takes out some paper and starts scribbling some notes.

Beka sees Belthazor comes in, smiles, nods. "Nice job with the debate thing last night. I entirely agree about the write-ins."

Belthazor looks over at Beka. "Thanks. Hey, somebody had to take a stand, right?" And it was a good excuse to weasle out of the debate.

Beka smiles at the guy Phoebe loves and hopes that he loves her back. It'd be a total waste of hot if you were an ass. The demon part I could care less about. "Took guts to be the one to say what more than a few of us were thinking. I admire that." And it gave me the perfect opening to pimp the debate today. Nice.

"Thanks," Belthazor said again. "And I see you split with the Hottest Ticket. You and...." *somewhat angsty pause* "...Phoebe are running together?" And if I wasn't being emo-demon over here I would totally be undressing you with my eyes and plotting how to get you alone in the supply closet.

Beka nodded. "Split. That's a..." *equally angsty pause* "...pleasant way to put it. Phoebe and I have no proof of this but wish we did think Parker is behind the smear on you. She didn't consult us and we didn't approve. At all. Phoebe also didn't approve of the way that Parker made an issue of my dealings with Angelus. We think alike Phoebe and I. Good team." If I didn't love Phoebe as much as I do I'd totally be helping you plot. Totally.

"Wouldn't suprise me," Belthazor said, assumming the was the end of the strikethrough in what Beka said. "She was following me around in the library the other day trying to pry into my business. Guess we know where the phrase 'nosy parker' came from now." We shall have strikethrough UST then. It's the latest rage.

"I wish I had even a shred of proof. I'll look into it, but with Parker and I about ready to kill each other, I'm not likely to turn anything up. Still, if Phoebe and I learn anything, it's yours." Pity we can't have strikethrough RST, but we'll live with what we get and hope Phoebe has a sense of humor about it.

Belthazor nodded. "Watch your back around Parker. She fights dirty, and if she's pissed at you and Phoebe for leaving her little group, she's probably cooking up some idea for revenge." And I can always dream about a threesome.

Phoebe watches this. And I do indeed have a sense of humour and threesomes sound interesting. There will be closest and secluded corners at Homecoming.

Beka studies him, lays her cards on the table. "I hope if Parker comes after us, we can count on you and Angelus and Anakin, in particular, to get our backs. The five of us could take over the freaking world...if I was interested in that sort of thing. Which I'm not. At all. Unless I can end the Magog infestation and push the Nietzscheans out of human space...then yeah." I like the way you subtext.

Belthazor grinned. "You can count on me for sure because if anyone so much as looks at Phoebe the wrong way you know I'll totally lose my shit. Can't speak for Angelus or Anakin, but I think they'll have your backs, too."

Beka grinned back, charmed. "I know Phoebe and I can take care of ourselves and they'll totally have to go through me to get to her. But it's always good to know the weapons in your arsensal."

Chloe comes into study hall and looks around for a minute, making a beeline for Belthazor once she spots him. "Hi! I don't believe we've met properly; I'm Chloe Sullivan, and I'm one of the editors for the school paper. We're doing a special election edition, and I was wondering if you had a few minutes to spare for a short interview?"

Belthazor looked Chloe over. "Depends on the questions. If this is about that whole 'He's an evil demon' thing...."

"Actually, these are all evil-demon-free questions," Chloe replies. "For starters, what made you want to run for office?"

Belthazor chuckled a little. "Funny you should ask that. Truth is I never even signed myself up for it. So it was kind of a joke, you know? Then that video of me comes out the other day, and okay, I was being a dick to that kid, but there's a lot of people around here who've done worse, and you don't see people waving their arms around and shouting 'Beware of humans!' And it kinda pissed me off I was minding my own business, not even putting up posters or making radio ads, and someone on the competition felt the need to illegally hack into the schools security system and try to humiliate me and scare the other students. So then I thought, you know, maybe I should take this more seriously, because if I was elected, I would make sure that no student, human or otherwise, should have to deal with that kind of unpleasant situation. I think most of the people running for office are human, but we non-humans should have a voice, too, you know?"

Chloe nods, genuinely intrigued by his answer. "Yeah, you've got a point. So, do you have any ideas of what you would do if you get elected?"

"I guess the first step would be making sure I can have a good relationship with whoever gets elected president," Belthazor said. "I know Draco already, but I don't know this 6 guy at all." There was somewhat of an awkward pause. "Uh, Phoebe I know pretty well, too. Then the next thing would be to figure out exactly what the students feel are the most important issues at the school now and address them with the administration and try to come to an agreeable solution. The gun thing is up there, I know."
