Epicurist, Gourmet, Foodie [Monday Morning, First Period]

As the class assembled, they would have been greeted by the smells of freshly cooked food, and the possibly disturbing sight of Bond wearing an apron.

"Regardless of the former-Vice Principal's antics over the weekend, I trust you all remembered the assignment I gave you last week," he said. "And brought along an example of food from your homes to share with the class."

Bond gestured at the spread of food on the tables, which consisted largely of several kinds of sausages, toast, eggs done in a variety of different manners, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast, and rather a lot of bacon. "For my part, this here an example of the traditional English breakfast. However, as you can no doubt see, the sheer amount of food, and the main method of preparation, does not make this advisable as an everyday occurrence." He continued on for a while, explaining some of the regional differences in the dish throughout the United Kingdom, although thankfully he didn't explain what exactly black pudding was made of.

"Now, I would all like you to share what you've brought with the class, and explain a bit about it."

Ned was busily trying to figure out what could be in the pudding to turn it black. His best guess was olives or...some kind of syrup. He didn't dwell on it too long though.

Jenny happened to know exactly what black pudding was made of. She still wanted some. She couldn't help it that she was English.

It was possible that as she was eying the black pudding Naomi was making note for Neelix to never find out about it.

Ella listened, thinking the English breakfast looked like too much food for first thing in the morning.

It would be tasty, though.

Ella had felt like she would be a liability on most of the weekend's missions, so she'd had plenty of time to perfect the venison stew (http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1638,149169-251194,00.html) recipe she had made.

"This is stew," she said, explaining what the bubbling pot probably made obvious. "It's got potato dumplings, and the meat is venison. We eat a lot of game in Kyrria."

She was a good cook, and the stew was delicious.

"Being English," Jenny said, "I of course brought chicken tikka masala from this little curry place in London, not far from Trafalgar Square. Trust me. You didn't want me to cook. Anyway, curry in general and chicken tikka masala in particular are, of course, the national dish of England. And if you don't buy that I also brought fish and chips."

Since Jenny hadn't cooked, everything would be both edible and tasty, but they might want to hurry up and try the fish and chips before Jenny got a chance to they got cold.

"You should have terrorised them with the black puddings," Jenny pouted. "That's always good for a lark."

"This is a Ktarian Chocolate Puff (http://www.memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Ktarian_chocolate_puff)," Naomi explained, rather glad that she had actually been at home over the weekend and that she'd had a chance to make it, "it contains 17 different varieties of chocolate and it comes from my father's home planet Ktaris, it's a popular desert back home,"

"You're no fun. Are you sure you're English?" Jenny queried. "I thought the purpose of the black pudding was to terrorise foreigners. Well, that and haggis, but who understands the Scots?"

Jenny knew she liked him. And not just because he was hot like burning. "Quite. Would it have been cheating to have brought haggis?"
