Superhero costumes?

"... Good morning, class," Lulu said, eyeing the set-up of the room a little suspiciously. "Today, we have a special guest lecturer joining us. She has come highly recommended to me for today's topic: disguise. Specifically, she focuses on how to hide one's identity when using one's... skills in public, most especially skills that could cause one to come under... investigation from sources by which one does not wish to be investigated.

"There are some of us here, in Fandom, who have abilities beyond the 'norm' for many versions of Earth. Some of us are not even from Earth, originally, and yet we find ourselves here, now. When travelling, there might be times we wish to use our abilities, to get ourselves involved in something while wishing to keep our identity unknown. That is when we look to disguise as a function of our clothing -- something to shield our identity while we work.

"Today," Lulu continued, "each of you is going to work with Ms. Edna Mode, who will guide you through the process of designing a costume that reflects your abilities and your personality. If you don't possess the kind of abilities about which I'm speaking, be creative: think about the skills you possess, and how they might suit the kind of role we're thinking of today.

"After all, today everyone gets to be a superhero." Lulu paused. "Or a supervillain. You will find no judgment here."

"Darling, naturally, but we have options. Skin-tight? Silhouette? Hmm, what are your powers, darling? Your mission. Who do you defend? Who do you fight?" Edna whipped out a sheet of paper and started making a preliminary sketch, muttering happily to herself. "Hmm, gold accents, maybe?"

"I'm good a hair pulling and scratching," Summer replied. She didn't actually have real superpowers. Also? Gold didn't seem right. "Maybe silver? Or black?"

"Silver! No one else will have it, but yes, that can work wonderfully. Hmm, never underestimate the power of dirty fighing, my girl. Now! Diamond tips on your nails? Perhaps an extra-strong grip for the hair-pulling?" Edna bounced a bit, grabbing another notepad and making alterations. "And heels, yes, for kicking! Steel toes, with silver insets, I think. Also, a mask! And restraints for your hair, so your tactics are not used against you!"

"Dirty fighting I can handle." After all, she had done that a few times already while living in Fandom. "Heels are good for weaponry. And very good point about hair restraints."

"Excellent! Now, for intimidation, we have silver with the cobalt hints, nails hair mask, boots with steel toes and reinforced heels, make it Kevlar-silk to repel blows, and YES!" Edna flipped her sketch around to show Summer, tapping a pencil against her lips. "Hmm? Yes? Possible? Or do you want a belt? Hmm? We could make it low, on the hips, very slimming, although you don't need it, darling."

Summer grinned, seemingly impressed. "I like it. And I don't think it needs a belt."

"Then we DISPOSE OF THE BELT!" And another sketch bites the dust and joins its fellows on the floor. "MMMM hmmm, yes yes exactly, re-move, and there!" Edna ripped her sketch off the pad and handed it over to Summer. "Wear it in good health, darling. And remember, dry-clean ONLY."

Summer grinned appreciatively. "Looks good. Thanks."
