It was the start of another week, and that meant Sam was getting his library duties on, even if no one probably needed them.

"Zoe likes to cook for Dad. Stuff for the kitchen might not be entirely inappropriate," Sam said. "And you could totally warn me if I said I was going to take Scout for a walk somewhere with the potential for sharks."

Maybe she could get them napkins and placemats and ammo? There had to be a theme there somewhere, right?

At least the look changed to an eyeroll. Sam really worried too much. "It's a beach. There's always a potential for sharks at the beach. Whales, too. Kind of a smaller potential for the whales, but it could still happen. 'course, I could give up on the beach and go for a walk and get hit by a bus."

Sam pouted playfully at Dawn. "I'm going to worry about you the whole time you're gone now," he said.

Dawn promptly headdesked. "I can probably make it there and back okay, Sam. I have extensive beach experience."

Sam laughed and patted Dawn on the shoulder. "You'd better. Have fun for me while you're at it."

"Does this mean I can let a friendly boy-type person help keep me from getting all sunburned?" Teach him to work during the summertime.

Sam scowled. "Only if he's just friendly, and doesn't get handsy with you," he said. "Girl-types are much better at that anyway."

"I think the only just friendly non-handsy guy I'm friends with already left," Dawn frowned, remembering that she owed Luke a letter or four. "No, they're not. You're good at it, and you're a boy."
