How to Be the Best at What You Do - Thursday, Period 2

This week, the students in the How to Be the Best at What You Do workshop would not find a short, grumpy, hairy Canadian greeting them. Instead, they found a Hispanic girl in an SPD uniform, who was actually somewhat grumpy because you try wearing a wool uniform in June. Honestly. Still, she had a smile on her face as she said,

"Hey, guys. Professor--sorry. Logan couldn't make it today, so as the TA I'm in charge. Don't cause any trouble." She may have glared at Jamie. "So, today we're going to watch this movie Logan left for us. I'm told there's a song you should pay particular attention to."

Ino, looking rather more suntanned today than yesterday, leaned back in her chair and fiddled with a pen.

Why was it always movies? She hated having to pretend to watch movies.

Ino was... bored, and not watching the movie, and so she totally noticed the glaring that Turtle was doing at Jamie.

A few minutes later a piece of paper was lobbed at Jamie's desk.

What did you do? Curiously.

Jamie looked at the paper with a puzzled expression.

Really there was so many things he had done.

Turtle could deal with a movie day today; she hoped that what she was writing look like taking note or something, but a closer look would prove that, yes, they were notes, but they were entirely notes on ways to get back at Jamie.

Complete with the occasional, lingering glare sent his way, too.

Temari watched the glaring with amusement, cocking her head slightly at the girl.

And then there was magically a note on her desk. Ninja.

Turtle blinked at the the note, read it, and rolled her eyes. After taking a moment to locate the fact that Temari had sent it, she would have rolled her eyes again, but she didn't want to overdo it. Why the heck would she want to know? She wasn't the girlfriend Rikku had mentioned, was she?

Oh, Lord...

Turtle shook her head and wrote a note back.

"Messed with the wrong two girls. I mean, I know he can be a huge idiot, but I didn't think his brain cells were this lacking."

She didn't want to release too much information, just in case. Didn't need his girlfriend running off and warning him.

After reading over her response, Temari snorted in amusement and the note found it's way back to Turtle's desk.

He tried to give me pink glittery things. I'm still finding that crap in my clothes.

Turtle read Temari's response and shook her head. Seriously, the next time Jeff stressed out at her about behind a good boyfriend, she was totally just going to reference Jamie. Seriously.

She considered her next response carefully.

"Good thing he likes pink so much then. That's all I'm saying."

Jamie had been engrossed in the movie until he got a note from Ino.

And then there was the whole noticing of glares and then *headdesk* exhanging notes with Temari.

Perhaps it wasn't too late for a diplomatic solution.

When there was a lingering glare directed his way Jamie responded with a cheerful grin and a small wave.

The look that Jamie got back, Turtle hoped, made it very clear that if he prized having a hand to wave with and a face to grin with, he'd stop right now, or forever lament his underestimation of her annoyance.

Not wanting to bother even wasting a piece of paper on the likes of him, Turtle just shot Jamie a look that might have potentially killed a lesser man, and clearly, distinctly, asked if, what? Did she look like she had stupid for breakfast this morning?

Because she so didn't.
