Courtly Dancing and Defence: Week 4, Period 4

Aly had taken over the music room for their classes from now on, and she was just setting up the speakers as the students came in.  "Afternoon, guys," she said lightly, turning to face them.  "I hope you're all enjoying our tropical paradise."

"Today we're going to focus on a dance you all need to know if you don't already - the waltz.  It's incredibly easy, even if you have two left feet because it's basically steps on the count of three."

She ran through a quick demonstration of the basic steps, counting out loud.  "Any questions?"  Once they all were answered, Aly nodded, hitting the play button on her music.  "Then grab a partner and try it out.  Try to work with a few different partners if you can - it's good to get used to dancing with all different types."

"Hello, Cassandra. Care to join me for a waltz?"

With a grin she nodded and held out her hand.

He gave her a brief, polite bow and a soft smile before taking her hand.

"This is pretty familiar for me. What about you?" he asked before moving.

She nodded again, "I like dancing."

"Then I suppose I should get started," he said as he took the first step.

Cassandra followed with perfect coordination. Being able to read someone's movements made it extremely easy to dance with them, after all.

He wasn't half-bad himself. Not nearly as perceptive, but his own movement was smooth.

That's all Cassandra really asked for. Her grin showed just how much she was enjoying the dance.

He didn't know many kinds, after all. And it was good to ask an expert.

Cassandra shrugged slowly, taking time to consider the question. "Anything with a partner? It's like a conversation." And in a language she's actually good with.
