Library [06/02]

When Sam woke up and discovered that all of his underwear was missing, his immediate thought was to wonder how Dean had managed to break in while he and Dawn were sleeping. But all thoughts of pranking went away when he showed up at the library and found every empty space of the desk being used for underwear storage.

The worst part was that none of it was his underwear, and that meant he was still feeling very, very uncomfortable in his jeans. His discomfort only grew when he started pulling the underwear out and discovered just what some people felt the need to wear under their clothes.

After filling a basket and marking it "Claim Your Underwear, Please" he went ahead and opened the library.

For some reason, Dawn was not completely surprised that some of her underwear had made it into the library of its own volition. "If you wanted to see them, all you had to do was open my drawer, you know. You didn't have to take it on a field trip..."

"I didn't take them! They just ended up here," Sam said. "I still don't know where my underwear is."

Oooh, that caught her attention. "Wait. Does that mean you're not wearing any?"

She tried to sneak a very white bra (http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2891179/0~2376776~2374327~6010810~6010813?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6010813&P=1) out of the basket while Sam wasn't looking.

"Um. Maybe," Sam said quietly, and if he blushed more, it was from admitting that and seeing Dawn's bra.

"And?" She peeked over the counter, as if he'd left the room without pants on or something. "How is it?"

She tucked the bra into her bag, then added a pair of panties (http://www.figleaves.com/us/product.asp?product_id=LL-45603&mci=&size=&colour=multicolored&image=r547641-p547685-front). A pair of boxers got frowned at and left behind in the basket. "Any idea how this happened?"

"It's uncomfortable," Sam said, squirming. "And no, I don't know how the underwear got here, just that it did."

"So the library is now an underwear vortex?" Hey, it was good an explanation as anything. "How uncomfortable?"

"It's entirely possible, all things considered," Sam said. "And it's very uncomfortable. Making-me-not-want-to-wear-pants-uncomfortable. Do you have anything on under your skirt?"

"What would you wear instead?" She asked, not feigning her interest in the slightest, even as she blushed harder, crossed her arms across her chest, and pulled down on her skirt all at almost the same time. "Does it matter?"

Hopefully this wouldn't be the smartest thing she asked all day.

"Well, I don't have a choice, because I'm not a girl," Sam said, smiling at her blush. "It matters to me."

"I think we have some clean towels," she suggested, then glanced carefully around for any hidden squirrels before meeting his eyes and nodding.

"I'm so not sitting here at the desk in a towel," Sam said, grinning when Dawn nodded. "Am I allowed to have a bad thought about that?"

"That's too bad," she said wistfully. "It would have been pretty. Of course you're allowed to have a bad thought, though it's kind of more a dirty thought than a bad one, right?"

"Well, you know, dirty, bad, same thing," Sam said.

She shook her head. "Nope. Dean, Faith, and Anya all said, and I gotta go with the pros on this, I think. Like, dirty's me imagining what I want to do with you in here, again. Bad's...well, I don't know what it is, but it's wrong."

"Dirty's me in a towel and nothing else?" Sam teased, looking a little embarrassed. "I still can't make myself think of dirty without bad. It's just how my brain works."

"Nope," Dawn was looking at him a bit smugly. "You in a towel and nothing else is just hot." She lowered her voice, leaned in, and whispered, "Dirty's me on the desk and you finding out whether I'm telling the truth or not, without locking the door to the library."

Sam's eyes widened a little as he glanced at the door. "Anyone could walk in on us," he said.

"Yup." She took a step closer, but didn't hop up on the desk. "Anyone could. Then you'd have to look innocent and like you weren't doing anything. You'd have to be very quiet and way alert."

"I don't know if I can be quiet if we're doing something dirty," Sam teased. "It's really hard."

"Isn't there something in Marine-speak about being all you can be?"

"Dad's the Marine, not me," Sam said, laughing. "I'm all I can be without getting driven crazy by your hotness."

"I drive you crazy?" She beamed at him. "Really?"

"The good kind of crazy," he assured her.

"I figured." Otherwise they'd really need to talk.
