After seeing where exactly the island had relocated to, Bond had made several expeditious phone calls, which was why his class in short order found themselves in a small, hole-in-the-wall resturant in Mont St-Michel, being served fresh bagettes and a variety of cheeses while Bond alternatively lectured and flirted with the waitpersons.

"Modern food appreciation is in large drawn from French modes of cooking, as such our current location is fortious," he began. "The regional cuisine of Normandy, where we are now, contains ingredients such as cheeses, apples and various seafoods. Cider, rather than wine, is produced here..." he continued in a similar vein for some time.

"Now, I realise that it is far too early in the day for a main meal, but the wonderful staff here have prepared a number of dishes tradional to the area, as well as some for France as a whole, and I encourage you all to try as many as you feel you can."

While eating tasty, tasty cheeses.

Ned hadn't ever really been a fan of cheeses but, of course, he hadn't gotten to try international cheeses.

They were pretty good.

Ella was nibbling on some bread with brie while she listened.

Hoshi was sampling all the different cheeses and really enjoying them.

Last week she'd probably have been pounding her head against the table in denial that she was somehow in France now, because she couldn't exactly fall asleep on a plane twice. After her experience this weekend, though, Francine was pinching herself happily instead, as she listened to the lecture, stared admiringly at Mr. Bond's pretty, pretty eyes, and nibbled on ~~everything in sight~~ the best. cheese. ever.

Cimorene made her way through the collection of cheeses, making notes on what she liked and what she didn't.

Mmm, brie. Camembert. Roquefort. Delicious cheeses.

There's a range of ~~moddable within reason~~ dishes, and so long as you don't overdo it, Bond will look the other way while you try the cider.

Ned was happy to try a little bit of everything. He didn't want to try too much of something and have it disagree with his stomach.

Naomi tried a small amount from a few different dishes.

The seafood made Ella happy, so she filled her plate with small samples from several dishes.

"Afternoon." Cimorene said softly, sitting down by Elle.

"Cimorene!" Ella grinned. "How do you like this class so far? I'm enjoying all the cheeses."

Cimorene waved her notebook of notes. "I'm quickly becoming very fond of this class. What about you? How are you finding school in general?"

"I like it so far," Ella declared. "My last school was a finishing school and we had to do stitching, so food and vacationing are much better. And then I have Kings and Queens, which makes me very grateful my country has the royal family we have."

Cimorene didn't make a face because that would be rude. "That means we're in two classes together then." She commented. "And I am of the belief that everything is better than stitching."

"I think we are," Ella said easily. "And yes. It was especially hard because I'd never stitched in my life, and sewing mistress kept correcting me until I learned to embroider properly."

"I got bored and ran off to study fencing..." Cimorene said thoughtfully. "I never understood the point of teaching 'fine ladies' all the useless little things."

"It's because we're just meant to marry and look pretty," Ella said, rolling her eyes to show what she thought of that. "If my father'd had his way, I'd be married already."

"I ran away to go to a giants' wedding," she confided.

Cimorene joined her in the eye rolling. "So would I. Be married that is. I ran away from my engagement party."

Ella made a disgusted noise. "Did you at least like the guy at all, or was he all gross and old?"

"He was about our age, and quite handsome." Cimorene said. "But he had the intelligence and common sense of a wasp, and that's insulting to wasps." She paused. "He did prove to be quite stubborn."

"Nice to look at, then,but not what one wants in a husband," Ella decided. So running away rid you of him?"

Cimorene shook her head. "No...my father offered half the kingdom and my hand in marriage to whomever rescued me. In the end, I had to pretend to break my ankle so that he physically couldn't rescue me."

Hoshi took notes on what she liked and disliked. She had plans to look up the recipes later.

Francine, like a lot of others, was following the little-of-everything policy, with strong emphasis on the everything. Except for the cider; she wasn't quite brave enough to try to get away with that.

Cimorene repeated her work with the cheeses, and took notes on what she liked and didn't like.

Glorious French food. Jenny loved this class. And the cider. She especially loved the cider.

He'll stop flirting with the waiters and waitresses long enough to listen.

Who might be suffering deja vu, maybe.

mmm... cheese...
