Galactic Vacationing - Danger Shop, Wednesday Afternoon

The Danger Shop, for anyone who entered it, looked rather like a London street at Christmas time. There were plenty of human shoppers milling about, lights and signs telling everyone about great last-minute sales and a group of musicians dressed like Santa with rosy-cheeked masks were lined up playing Christmas carols for passers by. It was a clear night, cold but not unreasonably so, and sadly no snow in sight. The teacher didn't appear to be in the vicinity either.

The pleasant scene was broken by the sound of plate glass smashing and blank-faced mannequins stepping out from shop windows. Down the street, a woman screamed, drawing a mannequin's attention. It raised its arm and the woman ducked out of the way just in time to miss a gunshot coming from where the mannequin's hand should have been.

A man in a blue suit, a tan trench coat and red sneakers appeared out of the panicking crowd, stopping in front of the students. His face reflected the urgency of the situation. "Run!"

[OOC: But look both ways before crossing the road and wait for OCD go for it. OCD is up!

ETA: Off to catch a flight. Hopefully will be back tonight to answer pings.]

As a London native, Jenny was not horribly impressed. She had been hoping for something a bit more, you know, galactic.

Lee had no idea where they were. All he knew was that it wasn't Virginia or Fandom or the freaking desert.

This was a bit like when he'd gone on that trip to Europe - and what, he supposed, cities had looked like in his universe before things went down. Shrugging, he moved along, paying attention to things around him but outwardly seeming rather nonchalant.

A busy city street was a busy city street regardless of the universe or the local customs and eccentricities.

Seregil felt very at home as he looked around at all the bustle around him.

Rodney hadn't been sure what to expect with this class, but he had assumed it would be something a little more... galactic. He crossed his arms and waited for what he hoped would be a very good explanation.

Freaking Santa Claus

The Santa Claus musicians continued to play throughout the chaos until all of a sudden the music stopped. The tuba let off a huge blast of light and noise and a moment later, an entire shopfront exploded into a fireball of shop. Might want to help deal with the Santas too.

After the Chaos

The scene froze mid-action. The students, of course, were free to move about, but the scene in front of them and all of the holographic beings stopped moving. They then disappeared and at the Danger Shop controls stood the man in the suit and trenchcoat.

"Gather 'round," he called to the students, waiting for them to follow his instructions. He looked around at them. "Hello, I'm the Doctor. Welcome to Galactic Vacationing. I'm not sure who came up with that name, but it's what we're dealt with, so let's move on. This is London, Earth, a couple of years ago actually. Under normal circumstances, most of you wouldn't even know that life on other worlds exist, let alone be able to visit them. This place changes that. If you're going to be galavanting around the galaxy, you should learn how to cope with what the universe in all its grand and sometimes gruesome glory throws at you. I'll do what I can. Show up, don't, it's all the same to me. I expect everyone to give it their best as if this was real. One day it will be. Class dismissed."

Talk to the Doctor

He hung around after the workshop to tinker with the Danger Shop controls. They were rather interesting.

Jenny folded her arms at the Doctor and glared. "You're going to run away from someone, just because they have a gun and you don't? Really?"

Quite aside from the fact that she's the spirit of electricity and kind of ticked about someone daring to attack London, Jenny's kind of, um, a sassy blonde in a Union Jack tee.

I believe the Doctor might have some experience with those?
