"I think you have more than enough to bite there already," Sam replied.

"Nothing wrong with having a healthy appetite," Dean told him taking a huge bite.

"You're so lucky I know the Heimlich," Sam said. "Have you been here long?"

Dean stared at Sammy. "I've been here same as you. Two years."

"I meant here at the picnic," Sam said, shaking his head. "There's someone here, and I was just wondering if you'd seen them yet."

"Oh. Right. I knew that," Dean said. "If you mean Alec, he dropped by my room before the picnic."

Sam looked a little relieved to hear that. "So you do know he's back. Good," he said. "I checked him. He's not possessed, as far as I can tell."

"I checked him too," Dean said. "Not going to make that mistake again."

"So, what do you think about him being back?" Sam asked, trying to sound casual.

"What do you mean what do I think about him being back?" Dean asked, shaking his head in confusion. "I'm happy he's back, what else would I be?"

"I don't know, surprised? Confused? Annoyed he came back with no warning?"

"He's back," Dean said. "Why would I be annoyed?"

"Because every once in a very long while, we manage to have the same feelings where Alec is concerned," Sam replied.

Dean rolled his eyes. "Figures you'd be annoyed he came back."

"I'm annoyed he just showed up out of the blue," Sam said. "I'm glad he's back for your sake."

"I'm not sure how you expected him to show up," Dean said. "It's not like anyone shows up here with advanced warning."

"Some people know they're coming here," Sam insisted. "I figured he'd know he was on his way back."

Dean rolled his eyes. "Think of it from his point of view. Considering what happened back in January..."

"...we would have Christoed him the moment he showed up, just like we did," Sam replied.

"Yeah, but I think he was nervous about reactions, y'know? Not everyone gets that possessed means you're not to blame."

"Maybe we would have had time to explain that if he hadn't left so quickly," Sam said, although he didn't sound like he blamed Alec much, surprisingly.

Dean sighed. "Look, he's been back less than a day. Can you give him a chance to settle in before you start with all this at least?"

"Fine," Sam said, sighing softly. "Have you thought about what you're going to do about Meg?"

"What do you mean what I'm going to do about Meg?" Dean asked, shaking his head in confusion.

"Well, Alec is back. You can't be with both of them," Sam said.
