Friday was still around, trying to soak in the atmosphere, remind himself that this was a great idea and that meeting new people wasn't really all that bad, just exhausting.

He mostly stood around people watching and occasionally chatting to someone new.

Sam was still wandering through the crowds, checking out the new people and trying to read nametags as discreetly as possible, when he saw a name that made him stop short and stare.

"Friday?" he asked.

Friday was surprised to hear his name. He looked up...and up...and up a little more. The face wasn't recognisable at first. He stared blankly for a few moments, then he had a flash of recognition. "Sam," he said slowly.

"Yeah! Hi," Sam said, breaking into a grin. "It's really good to see you. You got older...which is probably the stupidest comment ever, but still."

"I'll take it as an observation," Friday replied, returning the grin. "The kid with the ponytail told me it was 2002. I had no idea before that. Although it's probably no surprise considering this place. I can't believe you're still here. Mum would flip if she knew it's only been a few months since we left."

"Yeah, you guys haven't been gone that long at all. Is she here with you?" Sam asked.

Friday shook his head. "She and Dad are at home with Tuesday. But you probably wouldn't have met her. Little sister. Big pain. Mum asked me to call this weekend though, so she'll definitely be glad to hear about you. She said she lost contact with Fandom soon after we went home. Didn't hear a thing until I got a letter from the school. You're not as tall as I remember."

"I think you might be the only person who's ever said that to me. Of course, you were a lot shorter the last time I saw you," Sam pointed out. "You're going to be going to school here now?"

He nodded. "Looks like. Talked Mum and Dad into letting me come. They didn't want me too far from home, but I talked them around on this place since Mum knew what it was like. I think I'm a junior? Got two years left of school. How about you?"

"I'm going to be a junior in the fall too," Sam said. "That's not at all weird that we're the same age now, really."

"Not in the slightest. Really." Yeah, he was kind of weirded out too. "So if you're here and it hasn't been all that long since we left, I wonder if some of the other people I remember are here too." He grinned. "That'll be fun to find out."
