Turtle couldn't help grinning a little. That whole usually wait a week comment had her decided that she already liked him. "I was just checking to see who made them. A friend of mine is the owner of a big paper products company, and I own stock in them and sell them at my store, so I was kind of wondering if they're using his products."

"You own stock?" Wes says, his tone more pleasantly surprised than disbelieving. Even at his old school, where most of his peers came from wealth as well, they'd almost all been trust-fund babies. So meeting someone who apparently had business sense was definitely refreshing.

"Yup!" Turtle beamed, especially at that tone. She then proffered her hand. "Name's Turtle Wexler. Resident stock market genius, among other things. I'm kind of the go-to girl for financial stuff around here."

"Wesley-" Wes makes a face. "*Wes* Collins," he takes her hand and shakes it enthusiastically. "Go-to girl, huh? I may have to take you up on that. I've dabbled a little- my father says it's never too early to learn the importance of a a dollar, and all."

Turtle chuckled a little at Wes' introduction. "I feel the same way about my given name that I get the feeling you do," she commented. "And, no, I'm not telling you what it is. And I agree with your father. My dad wasn't quite like that, so I don't know where I got it, but I've been pretty successful in business either way. If you get a chance, you should stop by my store in town. Turtle & Canary. We sell practically everything."

"If you've got practically everything, then I'll have to, sooner or later," Wes points out with a grin. "It's nice to finally meet someone who isn't freaking out about my hair."

Turtle quirked an eyebrow. And then took a real good look at Wes' hair.

"Why? What's wrong with it?"

"I don't know... it's floppy, I guess? My roommate wanted to know if it's like that all the time, and then some other dude was asking me if I'd dyed it." Wes shrugs.

"I've seen floppier," Turtle decided after a moment. A.J. and Chad immediately came to mind. Sam, although he was so tall that Turtle wasn't sure she really knew what his hair looked like.

Heck, hers was floppier when she was a boy.

"Nope. Completely natural, here," Wes says, running a hand through his hair for... emphasis. Or something.

Turtle quirked an eyebrow and, despite herself, snorted a bit. "Nice. Well, rest assured, we've got plenty and plenty of hair products at the store, too."
