"Yo, Friday. I'm Reno. I won't make day of the week cracks if you can keep from askin' about something called Nevada, fair?"

"This'd be my second semester," Reno replied. "Long enough to not be new, new enough to not be old, or whatever. How you adjusting to Fandom so far? Run into any of the weird, yet?"

And there was plenty of weird. Reno would present it in numbered-list format, if he wasn't so damn lazy.

"Nothing too big. The alien guy over there with the forehead thing and I thought I saw a big stone person in a dress before, but none of the traditional Fandom weirdness I've heard about. Oh, and shirtless Fridays. As in the day of the week, not me, although I did take my shirt off for a while. Did you know that the girls do shirtless Fridays too?"

"Guy with the forehead?" It took all of Reno's self-control to not look. And then he looked anyhow. Mostly for a crazy guy in a labcoat, which he was relieved not to see, and so he could get on with his day. Good show.

"You heard about a lot of traditional weirdness, huh? What brings you to this crazy place?"

"Wanted to go somewhere different for a while. Mum and Dad were okay with it. Mum and I lived here a really long time ago, so I figured it was the best way of getting away for a while and doing something fun while going to school and the best way of convincing the parents to let me go. How 'bout you?"

"Business trip, you could say," Reno replied easily. "Boss was interested in the whole multidimensional... hub. Thing. So I got shipped off to high school to see what I could see."

It had been very interesting, thus far.

"Too damn true," he agreed, still smirking lopsidedly when the laughter subsided. "Was worried it was gonna be. But this place has been anything but normal, yo."
