Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008)
And this was the moment when Cal Stephanides proved that he really has a willpower of steel.
"No, thanks. I...I shouldn't."
There was the nice distraction of thinking of hot Greeks in skimpy bathing suits, although he had a feeling that his picture of them and Jenny's were probably different.
Actually...he was having trouble picturing it.
"Uh, have you actually...met many Greeks?" he asked. "I mean, with some exceptions, of course, we don't tend to be the...most attractive race, really. Not overall. You have a thing for hairy men, maybe?"
Or hairy women.
He still had nightmares about waxing, which were ironic. Now that he wanted facial hair, he couldn't seem to fill any in very well.

"I have, actually. You're Greek? Smashing. Welcome to the land of your ancestors and all that."
Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008)
Complete with the flair for tragic poetry.
"That's seriously Greek scenery over there? It's not like I've ever seen the coast of Virginia, so I wouldn't know the difference or anything..."
And Summer had mentioned something like that.

Plus, he wasn't sure how to answer that question that didn't make him seem like more of a weirdo than he probably already was seeming. Somehow 'because every single time I taste tobacco, I taste her' just seemed a bit too creepy for just meeting someone.
"Personal reasons."

You know, if she'd care. Which she probably didn't, but he decided to throw it out there since they were practically neighbors.
And he was feeling the need for a cigarette even worse now.
Fantastic.
