Kaylee nodded eagerly, smiling widely. "Yeah! I mean, so far. It ain't too different from home, yet, and everyone's so nice here. It's real different than I thought."

She belatedly realized she was babbling. "I'm Kaylee, hi."

"Not bein' five hundred years in the past, to start," she admitted, giggling. "Didn't really know that was possible."

Ino laughed. "That's not so bad," she said, "some people come from further in the future!" A beat. "And my world totally doesn't match up with this one's timeline so it's kinda really weird if I stop to think about it."

Kaylee winced sympathetically. "So it's kinda common, this whole 'Oh hey, I got on a ship in 2513 and now it's 2008 and I'm on a planet that got used up hundreds of years ago' thing?"

"Oh yes," she nodded, with a cheerful shrug, "that's totally just the start of the weird around here."

"Like how the island moves?" Kaylee asked, grinning. "Not that I know any of these places, but shiny!"

"Shiny," she repeated, and realized it might be a slang thing. "Um. Good? It kinda means like good and, y'know, makes you happy. Yay."
