Oh, a wave. Okay, he could do that far better than he could covertly stare at someone. So, he waved.

With the hand holding the food he'd just picked up. Oh well, it was on the ground now.

For just a moment Cassandra's face was horrified. FOOD! NOOOOOO!

Then she remembered that there was a whole lot of the stuff, so it was probably okay. She offered him a shrug as if to say 'whoops', but she did not offer him any of her own food.

Ned winced, looking forlornly at the food before back up at the girl. "Maybe it's in a better place now?"

Cassandra blinked. Then blinked again. "Like... where?" Because she'd always felt the best place for food was in her mouth.

"Is that better than being people food?" Cassandra asked, genuinely curious. After all, she wasn't an expert on how food felt, only how it tasted.

Cassandra considered that. "That's true."

He wasn't much better so this was totally comfortable for him.

"Though, that did look good," Ned said, still staring at the dropped food. "Maybe the ants will be nice to me while I'm here because I fed them?"

That was an interesting point. Cassandra pursed her lips, thinking about it. "What would the ants do if they were being nice?"

After taking a moment to think that over Cassandra agreed, "Me too."
