Isabel looked over the crowd, seeking shirtlessness to push away the image of paunchy tourist in a Speedo. Her eyes fell on Alec and she realized something she hadn't realized when she'd talked to him (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/1768628.html?thread=108757940#t108757940). Namely that someone better warn Meg so she didn't accidentally grab the wrong guy thinking it was Dean. "So I talked to one of the newbies before. Except he's not really a newbie."

They hadn't been close, not the way she'd been with others. But yes, Alec was definitely someone Isabel considered a friend. Potential lab rats had to stick together after all.

"Something like that. It's Alec. He's back."

Meg took a deep breath as if she had something important to say but all that came out was a breathy "Oh."

Then she smiled and nodded slightly. "That's great. Dean's going to be excited."

"Yeah, he probably will be," Isabel agreed, unable to prevent a small smile from escaping. She understood what it was like to worry about someone you cared about when they were out of touch and the relief that you felt when they turned up safe and sound.

"Are you okay?" she asked quietly.

"Of course I am," she said, smiling. "I can't wait to meet him."

She didn't quite believe her, but she wouldn't push. "He's a good guy. Damn hot. Nice, funny. You'll like him." And the truth of it was, Meg probably would.

"Well, I already know he's hot," Meg said, her smile getting bigger. "I'm sure I'll like him."

She'd force herself to like him, if she had to. The last thing she wanted was tension between herself and Alec. Dean didn't need that.

"Good," Isabel smiled. Meg was nice enough that she probably would.

"So did you see the cabin assignments?"

She shook her head, looking a little relieved to talk about something other than Alec. Not that it would stop her from thinking about is constantly.

"Not yet. Seniors get their own cabin though, right?" she asked.

Warning given, Isabel would be more than happy to be a distraction. "Yup. With multiple wings. If I remember right you're in with Dawn, Adah and Z. I'm in with Wyatt, Bridge and Lana."

"You get to live with Wyatt?" Meg asked, grinning. "Now I kinda feel bad for Bridge and Lana."

Lord knows she'd feel bad for anyone that had to room with her and Dean.

"That's what sleeping bags and camp-outs in remote parts of the preserve are for!" she replied, getting a little redder. "Honestly!"

Meg laughed. "Why Isabel, one would think you've been planning for this."

It was rare when Meg got to tease people. She had to enjoy it while she could.

She'd been thinking about it just a little.

"We both like astronomy," Isabel explained. "So we've gone out to see meteor showers a few times. So we have the gear. I didn't buy it specifically so I could sleep with my boyfriend."

But it was a very nice benefit.

"Funny how that worked out," she said oh so innocently. Because seriously, they had the gear. They'd definitely take advantage of it.
