Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I
The weather was lovely thanks to the island's new location, and even though it had been less than a week, there was no sign anywhere on the school lawn that part of the land had sunk and collapsed during graduation.
That didn't stop everyone from setting things up away from where the graduates had been seated, of course.
There were tables and chairs and plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and three signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, one listing rooms and roommates for the new students, and one listing the cabin assignments.
[WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE. OCD IS UP. This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible.]

Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling (Summer 2008)
It was best to get the simple questions out of the way.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling (Summer 2008)
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling (Summer 2008)
Not exactly a poor area.
"My next question is probably one you'll be asked a lot," she continued. "When are you from?"
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling (Summer 2008)
And then the rest of him caught up with Summer.
"Wait, did you ask...when?"

She paused, realizing she might be rambling a bit. "You'll realize soon enough that I'm not."
She remembered her first day here and being told about gremlins and zombies. She'd leave that part out, for now.

Cal clearly wasn't buying it. "Where's all the flying cars, or whatever? The proposed nuclear winter?"
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling (Summer 2008)
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling (Summer 2008)
"Would figure I miss the flying cars," he deadpanned.
Because it wasn't like he actually really believed Summer or anything.

You know, except for the fact that he totally was.

And smirked.
"You know, you're not helping your case very much by becoming a self-admitted mocker."

"That second one sounds like a good way to go," he said. "What is there to do around here?"
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling (Summer 2008)
"And there's always something going on in the common rooms," she added.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling (Summer 2008)
for great Jossing avoiding goodness."That doesn't sound too bad. I was a little worried, 'cause it seems like a small island and everything."
Not that Cal was really much of a social creature, but he liked to know that he had options.
