The sun was shining over the front lawn of the school (except for the part of the bleachers covered by an awning, in case anyone with sun issues had shown up), and the temperature had thankfully turned out to be perfect for the occasion. There was a stage placed prominently on the lawn, set up with a podium and a number of heavy metal chairs for the administration and guests. In front of the stage were platforms with more of the metal chairs; they'd been painted blue and gold, and were sitting empty and waiting for the arrival of the class of 2008. There were bleachers on each side of the platforms, for students, family, friends, alumni, and residents of the town who wanted to come and watch.

Alas, it was time for another class to graduate.

"Feeling like you is perfectly acceptable," he grinned back. "What do you belive in, if I may ask?"

That was an easy question for Amber to answer and she said without preamble, "Myself."

"An excellent answer."

He watched the proceedings with interest. "What do you think they will they do once they have graduated?" he asked absently.

"Oh, I imagine some will be off to college. Some might stay to attend teachers as TA's. Others I imagine will simply go home, wherever their home may be."

He nodded, then glanced back at her. "When do you graduate?"

"Oh my gosh, I have another year still to go," she said, smiling wryly. "I don't mind though. You see, I want to become like my idol, Diane Sawyer. She's a news reporter, you know. Very well known in my universe."

"I am not familiar with that individual, but I hope you do well with it."

He smiled. "And I'm looking forward to having you around for a bit longer."
