Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2008, Saturday Afternoon (Part I)

The sun was shining over the front lawn of the school (except for the part of the bleachers covered by an awning, in case anyone with sun issues had shown up), and the temperature had thankfully turned out to be perfect for the occasion. There was a stage placed prominently on the lawn, set up with a podium and a number of heavy metal chairs for the administration and guests. In front of the stage were platforms with more of the metal chairs; they'd been painted blue and gold, and were sitting empty and waiting for the arrival of the class of 2008. There were bleachers on each side of the platforms, for students, family, friends, alumni, and residents of the town who wanted to come and watch.

Alas, it was time for another class to graduate.

[OOC: If you ping in before the OCD is over, I will end you and all that you love. Ahem. OCD is done, go and rock out! This post is for audience mingling and general graduation stuff. The requisite WTF-y part of graduation will be posted later. Like last year, it'll be kind of hard to miss the events of the second post, so you might want to hold off an any post-graduation posts for a while to avoid being Jossed.]

Isabel adjusted her cap once more and got ready to walk. If she also kept a wary eye out for whatever could attack? Well, she'd been at two graduations already. She knew it was inevitable.

"Least the school hasn't exploded so far," Shawn remarked, straightening his own cap. "What's the bet on if that's gonna hold out?"

"Not going to," Isabel sighed, looking around once more. "Not if it's anything like the last two graduations."

Shawn nodded, shooting her a wry smile. "Well, s'long as there isn't as much goop as last year..."

Isabel had to laugh, remembering Jack and the goop and what it thankfully had covered. "Just tell me you're not naked under that robe."

Shawn laughed, shaking his head. "Definitely not naked," he assured her.

"Good. Not that it wouldn't be pretty and all, but seriously?" she grinned. "We're potentially facing battle here."

"And no one wants to end up naked at their own graduation," Shawn said. "It's like that nightmare you have in math class when you're twelve, except ten times worse."

"My parents are in the audience. It would be a hundred times worse!"

"I've got my brother," Shawn said. "And considering he has the camera, I'm pretty sure it'd get back to my mom eventually."

"Oh I'm sure she'd appreciate that," Isabel laughed.

Shawn snickered. "I bet," he said. "I wouldn't, though."

"Because you just know it'll come out at an inopportune," she grinned. "Like when you brought a girl home."
