Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2008, Saturday Afternoon (Part I)

The sun was shining over the front lawn of the school (except for the part of the bleachers covered by an awning, in case anyone with sun issues had shown up), and the temperature had thankfully turned out to be perfect for the occasion. There was a stage placed prominently on the lawn, set up with a podium and a number of heavy metal chairs for the administration and guests. In front of the stage were platforms with more of the metal chairs; they'd been painted blue and gold, and were sitting empty and waiting for the arrival of the class of 2008. There were bleachers on each side of the platforms, for students, family, friends, alumni, and residents of the town who wanted to come and watch.

Alas, it was time for another class to graduate.

[OOC: If you ping in before the OCD is over, I will end you and all that you love. Ahem. OCD is done, go and rock out! This post is for audience mingling and general graduation stuff. The requisite WTF-y part of graduation will be posted later. Like last year, it'll be kind of hard to miss the events of the second post, so you might want to hold off an any post-graduation posts for a while to avoid being Jossed.]

High school had been a time of incredible change for Peter. He lost the man who'd been a father to him for half his life, gained both great power and great responsibility, seen dear friends lost, been shot by criminals, vigilantes, and police, been arrested, moved to a different state, edited a newspaper, and had a girlfriend who was sometimes a cat.

He smiled as he took his diploma, confident in the fact that if you had told him four years ago that he was going to be dealing with all of that, not only would he have never believed you, but he also would have had no clue how he'd survive it. But he now had proof that he did, in fact, survive it. So it was a pretty great day, all in all.

For all the cheering and yelling Isabel was doing, she wasn't going to have a voice left when this was all over.

"YAY Peter!!!!"

Angela's voice was starting to give out, but she rallied for a "Yaaaaaay Peter!"

There was a giant cheer from one particular section of the audience. The "STICKBUGS FOREVER" banner was again waving like a waving thing as Peter's name was shouted like crazy.

Which then turned into a chant of "ROOM-IE! ROOM-IE! ROOM-IE!"

It's only polite to clap for all the graduates you've actually kissed. Xander was pretty sure that was in an etiquette book somewhere.

"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY PETER!" Zero cried, bouncing up and down and--not clapping, no, but throwing up the fist of rock. "WOOOOOOO!"

"Yay Peter Parker!" Parker called, taking a photo of her not-a-relative, and cheering along with Zero. "Woooo!"

Aeryn applauded, grinning for Peter, and half-expecting him to start quipping.

Jaye wondered if she could get a chorus of boos going.
