"There's a very famous story on this world," Anakin began. "Of the lady or the tiger. For those of you not from this world, the short version is there was a fictional king with his own sense of justice--instead of a court system, he had an arena with two doors. Behind one door was a beautiful woman, handpicked by the king. Behind the other was a tiger. If you chose the tiger, you were eaten and declared guilty. If you chose the lady, you were considered innocent and married the lady. The king didn't care about your previous marital status or sexual orientation, apparently."

He began pacing. "One day the king discovered that his daughter had been having an affair with someone far below her station, so the man was arrested and tossed into the arena. Now the princess knew which door has what behind it, and her lover looked up to her for advice. She had two choices: watch her love die, or marry another woman. The story ends with the princess telling him which door to open, but leaves us hanging as to what waited behind it."

Anakin smiled. "Your task today is two-fold. First, pair up with a classmate and decide what the princess did. Then tell me what you would have done in the princess's place."

"Is she still in bed?" Anakin asked.

Someone was a tad obsessed with radio coverage.

"She is," Eve said. "Got up and about for a little bit yesterday to go to the art gallery opening, but then Johnny took her back to the dorm."

Anakin raised an eyebrow. "Art gallery was more important than class?" he commented dryly.

"She needed to get up and do something, most likely. She was probably going stir-crazy. And she was only there for..." Eve frowned, doing the math. "Fifteen, twenty minutes?"

She shrugged. "Knowing Savannah, she wanted to be here, too. She's got doctor's orders to relax until... I think she said Monday."

"Uh-huh," Anakin said, still looking far from happy. "And you're sure she's ready to handle more difficult magics?"

"She was nearly killed by an evil Wyatt Halliwell," Eve said. "Her being in this shape is not because of her not being ready for more difficult magics."

"Did she fight back?" Anakin asked, as always concerned with strategy.

"Of course she did."

"Friends can turn on you in a heartbeat," Anakin said. "It's an unfortunate lesson in growing up." He shrugged. "I'd never been that impressed by the power Wyatt wielded. I might have to reconsider."

"It wasn't really him. He was cursed." She was trying not to facepalm, because really. "Someone sent him his teddy bear from when he was little, and apparently it had a curse on it. That turned him into some evil alternate version of himself."

Only in Fandom would this not sound like she was doing serious drugs.

"A cursed...teddy bear," Anakin repeated slowly.

"Yeah, from what I hear."

"You'd think they'd have a way to scan mail for that kind of thing," Anakin said, shaking his head and trying to hide a smile.

Because really, a teddy bear.

"They really should," Eve said. "Because of all the things that've happened at this school, it's somehow the cursed teddy bear that surprises me the most."

Anakin chuckled. "You weren't here for rain of pudding."
