"Today I get to ~~bitch about~~ talk about the Twelve," Biff said with a slightly predatory gleam to his eyes. "Of course, there were fifteen of us, when you add in me, Josh, and Maggie." He frowned. "Who wasn't a harlot and I have no idea how that rumor got started. Probably her ex-husband."

He shrugged. "Anyone, the fourteen of us were in charge of logistics and security for Josh's events. As you might've guessed, that boy was a security nightmare. After the Sermon on the Mount--and if you think that was just off the top of his head, you're out of your mind--the apostles split up to spread the Word of the Messiah and Josh and I stayed out of the public eye for a little while."

Biff grinned. "Your activity today is to go forth and preach as the apostles did, heal the sick, and bring the good news that, frankly, not a lot of fairly important people were eager to hear. The computer will generate a number of scenarios that the apostles encountered. And you, lucky, lucky you, get to be one of the apostles. That's also been randomly assigned."

"Oh, that," the man said, rolling his eyes. "People keep hoping it'll show up. Me? I think we're just made to suffer."

"I know, I mean, I thought that too," Rikku said, shaking her head. "I mean, the way things are, who can blame them? But if it really was here, I mean, coming, soon, that'd be huge news, right? You'd totally want in on the ground floor of that. The Kingdom, and no more of this whole Roman mess. Right?"

She wasn't entirely sure what this Kingdom was, but the no-Romans theme seemed to be worth following.

"Is the Messiah going to get rid of the Romans?" The man's eyes lit up.

Rikku lowered her voice. "We're totally working on that," she said. "They're trying to do a whole Kingdom-in-the-next-life thing, and I'm all, hey, let's fix this one, first. You know? Why can't the Kingdom be here? It's a negotiation. Still up in the air right now. You should come, help me talk them around."

"If it involves killing Romans, I'm in," the man hissed back.

"See? This is what I'm talking about," Rikku sighed. "All the crap we put up with from the Romans, am I right? People want change. People want to help with it. I bet you could get some friends in, too, right?"

"Of course," the man replied. "No god but God. They don't deserve to be in our land. Kill them all, I say."

"Drive 'em on out," she said, nodding. "That's what we need. A warrior. Someone who's gonna show those Romans a thing or two. We can have peace later, once we win."

Rikku frowned. "This Judas guy was a real prick, wasn't he?"

"He really was," Biff replied.
