Detention [5.04.08] - Saturday 800 to 1300 (the Danger Shop)
Harriet was looking suspiciously bright-eyed this morning as the detention-goers arrived. "Good morning. Today you're going to experience a little taste of Britain's ancient past. Possibly her imaginary past, but never mind. Today, each one of you is going to be Arthur, King of the Britons, and venture forth on a sacred quest for the Holy Grail."
She smiled at each of them in turn, looking far too amused. "It might not go quite as you expect it to," she added, then shooed them off. "Just go through that door to change into appropriate costume. Oh, and those of you with powers of any kind are not to use them. You are to approach this exercise as if you were an ordinary, non-magical, non-mutant, non-gifted human being. Arthur began his quest with only the blessing of God and strength of arms. You are to do the same."

The castle where a possibly familiar face was peeking out from between the parapets.

Romeo hoped rather desperately his French had not been understood.
"Hello," he called, trying to sound cheery and innocent. "Have you a grail for me now?"

However. He suspected he would not get out of detention if he did so.
And he had hoped to see Yurika today.
So: "I may have spoken hastily when last we met," he called up. "For which I am most sorry. Wise and gentle guardian of the grail, I pray thee, toss the cup down and I will be on my way. I'll pay you handsomely for the privilege."
Not that he had whatever passed for money in this world, but that could be worked out later.

And the French began launching a veritable menagerie of items over the castle walls. Ducks, chickens, a very confused looking badger, sheep...and one bright shiny object, coming closer and closer.
It was gleaming and gold, sparkling in the sun, and looked like a cup. Or like a Grail, even. Could it be? Could it be the end of the Quest? The fulfilment of all these hours of ceaseless searching?
You'd better catch it and find out!

(As a side-note, one of the little known side-effects of acquiring the Grail was its newt inducing tendencies. This was most likely because newts have a great deal of trouble holding a pencil.)
Little known or not, the newt inducing properties were very real. With a little popping noise, Romeo was suddenly a newt.
(It's okay, he'll get better.)
A door opened, leading out of the Danger Shop. Once on the other side, the newtness would be gone and he'd have his regular clothes back.
Re: Ooooh, a boat!
Stupid quests. Newt-Romeo hated detention with every fiber of his newty being.
