Fandom Playschool Host Club, Sunday Afternoon

Reno had a Host Club! And his club had all sorts of neat stuff, like a lego table and a velcro dartboard and those nifty little cards that had pictures on them for matching games and stuff! And there was grape juice! And cookies! And a kind of scary lookin' pizza that he took from the common room last night that might have marshmallows and salami on it, but Reno wasn't sure.

Oh, oh, oh! And bestest of all? Reno's Host Club had boys who were there to entertain the girls or whatever, even if girls did have cooties. It was their duty as hosts to be all entertaining an' stuff, and that's why it had 'Host' in the name and not just 'play with our toys club' or something, and Host Club boys were tough and could totally handle a few cooties anyhow.

So it was really, really good that the clinic had free cootie shots today, maybe.

Oh! And Reno had made a sign with crayons and had hung it up and it was a good sign saying that the Host Club was open to everyone. If you squinted and looked at it sideways and used your 'magination.

And if they were real good, maybe Uncle Barney would tell them all a story, Reno hoped. Because Uncle Barney was awesome.

[OCD is up and the Host Club is open to all!]

Romeo wrinkled his nose. "That's no fair, you've had longer to get big than I have," he declared. "I'll be bigger'n you when I'm old like you!"

"Ha! As if," Barney argued, having no clue if the kid was right. "You got good genes?"

He wasn't, actually, but it was a close thing per IMDb.

"I got the best jeans," Romeo said, not sure what that had to do with it. "Calvin Kleins!"

Barney laughed. And laughed. Uproariously.

"Oh kid," Barney wiped his eyes. "The comic relief!"

Romeo wasn't sure he got the joke, really, but he didn't mind making people laugh. "Thank you?" he said, very puzzled. "Now you gotta tell me a joke."

"A joke, huh?" Barney didn't really know any age-appropriate jokes. "Why'd the chicken cross the road?"
withoutverona: (weetiny vaguely emo)

"To get to the other side?" Romeo said, rolling his eyes. "Everybody knows THAT."

"That's not how my joke ends," Barney said. "Did you want a joke or not?"

Romeo looked a little sullen. "Sure, go ahead," he said, crossing his arms to show how prepared he was not to laugh.

Barney was so not amused by this older kid. "Okay, punk, listen up. The chicken? He crossed the road to GET LAID! Yeah, that's right! Now run home and tell mommy that joke."
withoutverona: (weetiny shocked)

Romeo's mouth dropped open. "That's a dirty joke!" he said, scandalized. "You shouldn't say jokes like that around little kids."

Not that he really knew what "get laid" meant, but he had a vague idea.
