Criminal Justice (As Taught By A Criminal) - Period 3 - Monday 03/24

Today Deadpool had an assortment of weapons and odd baggies filled with powder on his desk.

Fake, of course.

Well... just don't try any of them, okay? That might be the best move with him.

"Today, yes I know I mentioned learning about felonies, but I got bored trying to write it. So! Today you all are going to learn to hide weapons and other paraphernalia when people are frisking you!"

No, he wasn't even going to bother adding any not dirties here.

"Split into groups of two and get crackin'! One will be the frisker and the other will be the friskee!"

Which reminded him to pick up food for Max...

"Good luck!"

Peter's shoulders slumped with frustration. "I know I can make things vanish if I'm touching them. Looks like I can't make just those things vanish. Oh well."

"Haven't got the hang of it yet?" asked Jen, half wondering if two-thirds of the student body had aspirations to some kind of slightly criminal pursuit. Or something that could be used for those purposes, in theory.

"Or for all I know it doesn't work like that," Peter said. "Unfortunately none of my powers came with an instruction manual."

Jen noted the plural, and Peter's uncertainty. "How many do you have, anyway?"

"When you get right down to it, just one," Peter said. "I copy other people's powers. Only with some they don't fade away."

"So that's why you're not sure." Jen gave him a slight grin. "I think I might've still been able to see the outline of it under your coat, though."

"Exactly," Peter said. "Sometimes I don't even know I have a power until it manifests. Like the last one."

"Around here, that must get a little inconvenient," remarked Jen. "Aha -- is that a bag of suspicious powder there, or did you have a craving for instant oatmeal today?"

"Would you believe I care a great deal about eating right in the morning?" Peter asked, giving her puppy eyes.

Even Jen wasn't immune to the effects of the puppy face, it seemed, although she'd never say as much. "I guess with all those powers you need the extra iron intake, huh?"

"Plus you never know when you'll be called upon to donate blood," Peter said.

Jen laughed. "Such an upstanding citizen, and yet here I am searching you for contraband."

"Which says a lot about why I won't be voting Republican," Peter said. He gave a wry grin. "Once I'm old enough to vote, anyway."

The specifics of the American political system in the twenty-first century were a little outside of Jen's field of knowledge, but she knew just enough to get the reference, and grinned back. "The cop in me says I should go ahead and bring you in, but I'm kind of tempted to let you off with a warning."

"I promise I'll never do it again?" Peter said, going with the puppy eyes once more.

Good thing Jen had never actually dealt with a perp with puppy eyes.

(Two hundred eyes, yes, but that was completely different. Also, ew.)

She cleared her throat and adopted her most authoritative posture as she shook a finger at him playfully and intoned, "Okay, don't let me catch you at this again, got it?"

Peter nodded solemnly. "Yes ma'am."
