Library [Sunday, March 23]

Another Sunday found Lee, once again, in the library. He was propped up at the desk, half reading a book and half daydreaming. There were books to shelves and some homework to do but Lee preferred the daydreaming for now.

The library was open.

"I'm sure we'd have a blast," Adah grinned sharply. "My sisters are closer, but they're more likely to talk about themselves than me in that respect..." Especially Rachel. Oh, Dog, picturing how Rachel would respond to the Eel was an interesting detour into the imagination, that was for sure, "...so maybe I'd luck out. I have a feeling that Zak's version of any of your stories might be at least a little bit different from yours."

"Well, I don't know if you'd have met them then, anyway," Adah pointed out. "Both our parents were there, and we didn't meet either of them respectively. Besides, they wouldn't come. Rachel wouldn't be bothered for something like that, and we still don't even know where Leah is." Or if she was even alive, really.

"I wouldn't say I was hiding from mine," Adah grinned lightly back, shifting a little as she noticed the weight of Edgar in her sling shifting, too. She seemed to have gotten bored with the Eel's fingers finally and made a slightly fussing sound as she tried to find something else to be distracted with or maybe settle in for a nap. Adah quietly hoped it was the latter option, and gave the baby a light swaying, guided by her arm. "Just not actively seeking her out. I have to admit, I rather preferred what I did instead that first day."

Adah's lips pursed a moment as if she couldn't decide whether she wanted to smirk at that or look affronted, but, for the most part, as she steadily tried to sway the squirm out of Edgar, she felt a little flattered. Last night, she felt anything but good with her, desperate, pained, nervous, flustered, angry, annoyed, but, really, in retrospect, all things considered, maybe she really hadn't done so bad after all. Edgar was still even in one whole piece, after all.

"Yeah, well," she muttered, looking down at the little droid baby, "hair pulling and screaming wake up calls and bunny bites and dirty diapers and flung food and excessive drooling aside, I kinda like her, too. Of course, it's easy to say that when she's being quiet like this."

"Well," Adah informed him, "if you get a chance, take Skywalker's ethics class and you'll get a chance at having a robotic lust baby of your very own. He seems to make a theme of it, since River had one last semester from his class. Personally, as far as lessons on lust go, I would have gone the route of STDs, but, well, you know me. My interest in things increases as the number of cells involved decreases."

"Aside from the mechanical babies," Adah said, "it's not so bad of a class, but I think I have the benefit of the fact that Skywalker seems to like me for some reason." Her shoulder lifted slightly; it would have been a shrug, but she didn't want to disturb Edgar too much, whose eyelids had started to heavily drag over her eyes. The edge of a nap. Hallelujah. "I don't know. I never really expected a class like ethics to count among my strong suits."

Adah nodded. "Good. Appreciated. I'd do it myself if it weren't for the fact that it would have just about the same effect as a light breeze through an open window."

Adah felt, for a moment, that she should be ashamed of how sharp and quick her smirk was, but she just couldn't. Especially not when she started remembering how her scalp was feeling right now.

"Good."

Adah's grin softened as she leaned in a bit to help the progress of the kiss on the cheek, and took a moment to shift her head to return it with a light brush of lips. "Maybe a bit," she admitted, "but I'm a woman scorned, with an extension of resources to help enact my fury, and I feel more resourceful by utilizing them rather than guilty."

Adah couldn't help her own laugh a little at that goofy smile, rolling her eyes. "And a very good one at that," she assured him, shaking her head slightly before leaning in for another light kiss. Potential beat downs weren't the only thing he was a good resource of, after all.

"Oh, please; your head's so far up there, I didn't think it would have any more room."
